Watercolorist to glass artist
After beginning her art career as a water-colorist, Texan Beverly Parker studied with several glass artists.
She learned to incorporate her watercolor knowledge and glass techniques to create these wonderful horse platters.
Her technique is called vitreous, or glass mosaic. She uses powdered and crushed glass in multiple layers and firings to accomplish her artwork. Other sizes and shapes seen here.

Frogs with attitude
At the age of 13, Johnny Hughes witnessed a man using a potter's wheel and a ball of dirt to make a beautiful vase. After a 25 year career in music, he turned again to his first love, working with clay. He says, "I love playing in dirt and will continue to be amazed with the magic of ceramics for the rest of my life." Frogs are an international symbol of good luck. Since a frog cannot hop backwards, it is also a symbol of going forward with your life.
See his fun pieces that are in stock now. |
Dichroic glass paperweights

Beer journals for the serious beer lover |
Real hops in the resin of the pen and a few drops of Cascadian Dark Ale in the ink give your beer experience a "golden" glow.
Rate your next beers for flavor and presentation, and note where you found them in this Beer Journal. Two 33 page booklets and refillable pen should last a long time---as long as you avoid hangovers.
Inspired by life's little luxuries, artist Merrie Buchsbaum and bookmaker Dave Selden have created these pen and book
sets celebrating their mutual appreciation for beer.
Check out the wine journals as well.
