| Small Business Saturday Exciting new work Vol 6, Issue 12 Nov 2012 | |

Our friends at Michael Michaud's production studio survived Hurricane Sandy!
With no electricity, heat or water and with three feet of snow on its way, these freezing workers are gathered outside in the elements packing orders. Wow, what an example of dedication. The Survivor Tree was still standing after 9/11 at ground zero. It was badly burned, but brought back to health and planted again at the 9/11 Memorial. Michael received permission to clip a few samples in order to properly depict the leaves in his Survivor Tree series of bronze jewelry. Shown are the newest additions. You can see more of this story and jewelry here.

American Express sponsors and declares
Saturday, Nov 24th as Small Business Saturday
This Small Shop Movement is designed to entice shoppers to local Mom and Pop storefronts and main street merchants across the United States.
Wedged between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it would initially appear that November 24th's Small Business Saturday only has a snowball's chance of striking it big in sales. Small Business Saturday is celebrating its third year since being launched by American Express in 2010 and they expect a banner turnout. Over 100 million people shopped and supported the event last year according to American Express.
On the 24th we will be offering, at both locations, small bites of our neighbor's Nothing Bundt Cakes and cold bottles of water to our shoppers.
Shopping small is still big!

Dear friends,
As we reflect on our blessings at this time of year, let's remember those 102 brave souls that crossed on the Mayflower in 1620 and celebrated their harvest with the very first Thanksgiving Day. We extend our admiration and appreciation to those courageous English travelers!
On behalf of all of us at Hanson Galleries, I'd like to wish you and yours a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Hope to see you at either location on Small Business Saturday, or anytime you can stop by.
Art, Donna, Larry and your friends at Hanson Galleries
