Precious Lord of the Universe,
I acknowledge You as the Source of all good.
I know You to be the breath that I breathe, the beat of my heart, the activity of my mind, the movement of my limbs - the absolute essence of my being.
Each morning I awake with one initial thought and expression: THANK YOU!
I give thanks for each day that I have the divine opportunity to be alive. I give thanks for each day that I can live a life of service.
I give thanks for my family, both birth family and family of choice. I give thanks for my mentors, for those who have shared so much of themselves with me that I now know and understand who I am and why I'm here.
I give thanks for my home and the love and joy that resides here.
I give thanks for my life partner who loves and supports me unconditionally.
I give thanks for the opportunity to teach and preach and coach and write.
I give thanks for the joy of music and all those who inspire me, most especially for the many joy-filled moments that I spend singing God's praises.
There is so, so much more for which I am eternally grateful. Yet, no matter how many words I say, the expression seems to be inadequate.
How in the world do I express gratitude for Your infinite presence in my life by using words that are formed in a finite mind.
There is no way that I can express my gratitude adequately.
God, You are beyond words, You are beyond thoughts, You are infinitely beyond my imagi- nation.
So, "thank you" will have to do; and, I pray that the depth of my soul, the love in my heart, the joy and the peace in my very being comes through.
I love You, God. And, I do so with every fiber of my being!
