Celebrate Orson

CITIZEN WELLES

And now for what even the New York Times has been talking about! 100 years ago this May, a baby boy named George Orson Welles was born in Kenosha. He would live the first five years of his life here, and then go on to become an acclaimed actor, writer, director, and producer. His 100th birthday could not go by without recognition from his first hometown. A committee made up of organizations and individuals has formed to plan a month-long celebration in May. You're invited to the party!

Events include a radio adaptation of the infamous 1938 panic broadcast "War of the Worlds," film screenings of "Citizen Kane" and "The Magnificent Ambersons," cemetery walks, appearances by notable authors, and much more.
