Bunny Hop into the Kenosha Area

MARCH 2013

Greetings!

While Wilmot Mountain is certainly happy that winter continues here in the Kenosha Area, spring is right around the corner with Easter and more spring activities filling the calendar this month! When planning your Kenosha Area getaway, be sure to check out these military discounts, coupons, and hotel packages. We'll see you soon!

Enjoy Jelly Belly Visitor Center HERE COMES THE EASTER BUNNY!

While it tastes like Easter all year long at Jelly Belly Visitor Center, the holiday itself really only comes once each year. This month already, in fact! Check out these special appearances by the Easter Bunny: Family Fun Day Easter Celebration at the Kenosha YMCA on March 23, the 2nd Annual Easter Bunny Parade and Easter Egg Hunt in Downtown Kenosha on March 24, Easter Hoppenings at Jelly Belly Visitor Center on March 30, and an appearance at Lou Perrine's Gas and Grocery on March 30. Don't forget your camera!

Ride the Electric StreetcarSIGNS OF SPRING!

Despite recent snowfalls, there are sure signs of spring in the Kenosha Area: Big Star Drive-In has removed its boards and opened for a new season. Come and enjoy some 1950's flair at this drive-in eatery with car hops! Kenosha's Electric Streetcar has resumed seven-day-a-week service. Not only that, but a seventh streetcar will make its debut this month! Watch for the red, white, and blue car! And that's not all! Brighton Dale Links and Petrifying Springs Golf Course (provided our snow melts by then) and Great Lakes Dragaway all intend to open before the month is over. At the dragaway - the oldest continuously operating drag racing facility in the world - you can race your vehicle or watch others Tuesday through Sunday! All season passes are half price until March 15!

Visit the Kenosha Public MuseumARTFUL EXHIBITS!

There's a fiber show at the free Anderson Arts Center, and we don't mean the kind that's good for your diet. Through March 24, enjoy "Women's Journeys in Fiber" featuring robes, blooming botanicals, purses, and more. The Southport Quilters Guild Annual Members Show is happening over at the Kenosha Public Museum (March 2-24). Attendees get to vote for their favorite quilts! National Quilt Day will be celebrated at the museum on March 16 with a full day's worth of activities, including demonstrations, a colorful talk about feed sacks, and family crafts. This month's Lemon Street Gallery & ArtSpace exhibit features photographers Cindy Garwood and Robert Schnack and Soapstress, Laura Zielinski. All are invited to meet them March 9 at an evening reception as part of Downtown's Second Saturday.
