National Safe Place Program Begins in Williamson County
Runaway and homeless youth in Williamson County will have a new form of community support and connections to crisis services through the National Safe Place program, coordinated by STARRY's SAFE program with help from local businesses and government agencies.
SAFE is Williamson County's first agency to affiliate with National Safe Place, a 30-year-old national youth outreach program that educates thousands of young people, families and community agencies every year about the dangers of running away or trying to resolve difficult, threatening situations on their own.

HomeAid Family Cottage Now Under Construction
Construction is underway on a new 7,000 square foot HomeAid Family Cottage for the Family Care program at Texas Baptist Children's Home. The cottage is expected to be completed by summer of 2013.
It takes a lot to make a house a home. Furnishing the new Family Cottage for seven families is a huge undertaking. Everything from towels to sheets to kitchen items are needed.

A Message from our President
Anne Hathaway won the 2013 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Fantine in Les Misérables. At the end of her acceptance speech, Anne said, "Here's hoping that someday in the not too distant future the misfortunes of Fantine will only be found in stories and nevermore in real life."
I can't help but think of Anne Hathaway's statement and how it applies to our ministries.
