Seahurst Park to Reopen August 25

The restored northern beach at Seahurst.

The City plans to reopen Seahurst Park to the public at 8 am, Monday, August 25, as the contractor winds up work on the Shoreline Restoration Project. With the typical sunny weather in September, there's still plenty of time to enjoy the park and its new long stretch of sandy beach where the northern seawall used to be. A formal ribbon-cutting ceremony is being planned for later. The City Council and staff thank residents for their patience during the closure.

For more on the project, see the Seahurst Park Project webpage.

A contractor will apply an overlay on several streets citywide and upgrade storm drain facilities along SW 152nd Street. Residences and businesses to be directly affected by the work have been contacted by the City. The overlay process removes and replaces the top 2 inches of asphalt to maintain pavement life.
