EMBRACE HUMANITY EXPRESS DIVINITY
EXPERIENCING LIFE'S JOURNEY AT ITS BEST
SPIRITUAL BUT NOT RELIGIOUS
Michael Dowd
Pro-Future Evangelist
Sunday, March 5
11:00 am to 1:00 pm
The Chapel

His work has been featured in The New York Times, LA Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Newsweek, Discover, and on television nationally.

Michael's book, Thank God for Evolution, was endorsed by 6 Nobel Prize-winning scientists, noted skeptics, and religious leaders across the spectrum.

Michael has delivered two TEDx talks and a program at the United Nations.

He has a passion for proclaiming a pro-science, nature-honoring message of inspiration - what he calls "the gospel of right relationship to Reality".

He speaks prophetically in secular and religious settings about our sacred responsibility to future generations.

Do not miss this awesome opportunity to hear one of the most important voices of our times.
Project Hope Alliance Community Pantry Outreach Project
InReach Support Program

Common Ground is pleased to serve the congregation through offering InReach Support, which is

an extension of ministerial presence at Common Ground.

Rev. Glenda and Rev. Judy are deeply grateful to Rev. Stacie Buda and the team. Rev. Stacie developed the program and continues to provide guidance and leadership.

The team is comprised of a committed group of people who regularly attend Common Ground and who have been called to do this work.

They have been trained in the art of Compassionate Listening, prayer, grief support and confidentiality.

They help maintain connection with people in the spiritual community whenever a need arises or when regular attendance becomes impractical or impossible

InReach Support provides a structure and pathway for responding to emergencies that affect the congregation.

Life
Life

Life is a pretty great place to be
if you don't mind mystery,
if you can keep an open mind,
and dance when the coals are burning hot,
and forget them when they're not,
and just move with the energy.

And revel in the sunshine when it's on your face.
And put a layer on when winter takes its place.

Love is a very sweet place to be
if you don't mind company
and a little bit of pain sometimes;
for we are connected at the source
and life will take its course
and bring us into unity.

I feel a family growing based on love and trust.
We've such a flock of angels watching over us...

That I feel a hope I've never felt
that the hardest rocks will melt
and a new landscape will come in view, for Earth,
when in love and light and grace
we begin to take our places
and each do what we came to do.

It doesn't have to be the way it's always been.
We can break the patterns now and start again...

In love, a very sweet place to be
if you don't mind harmony,
if you can keep an open heart
and dance when the coals are burning hot
and forget them when they're not
and just move with the energy - of life.

The Real Game of Life

Starting in March, Reverend Glenda and Reverend Judy will be focusing attention on the meaning and metaphor of springtime.

They will remind us that this is the season of growth, renewal, and new life.

They will help us open to setting an intention to reflect on our lives and find places where we may need to let go of things that no longer serve us.

They will invite us to embrace the idea that the Universe is a limitless expression of energy and that we have a choice about how we experience our lives.

They will remind us that if we have pain and chaos in our lives it does not mean that we are stupid or wrong, it just means we are temporarily forgetful of the truth of who we really are.

Springtime is a metaphor for the start of new things, new ideas, new behaviors, leading us to better times in this game of life we are all playing in our humanity.

Anyone who is ready for 'metanoia', a change of mind, heart, self, or way of life is invited to join us on Sundays at The Chapel on Common Ground.

Everyone is welcome, invited and included.

Come as you are.  As you are is perfect.

In addition to Sundays at The Chapel there are many opportunities each week to grow in awareness at Common Ground.  Be sure to check out our busy calendar for the most up-to-date listing.
Common Ground is founded on the idea of embracing humanity ~ our own and that of others. We endeavor to serve and empower the local and global community,  to actively support efforts toward creating a sustainable planet, and to grow as individuals toward a healthy lifestyle ~ body, mind and spirit

We are creative, innovative, and contemporary in our approach to learning and demonstrating practices to support us in navigating through the complexities of day-to-day life; including meditation, personal growth, and exploration of wisdom traditions

Please check us out to see if we are a fit for your spiritual journey.

WEDDINGS, MEMORIALS AND SPECIAL EVENTS AT THE CHAPEL ON COMMON GROUND

The Chapel is one of Southern California's newest and most desirable niche wedding and special occasion venues. It is a picture-perfect turn-key setting in today's budget-conscious economy.  Our tasteful styling offers a glowing backdrop and gives a refined and intimate sense of quiet elegance.

Please join us during the months of March and April as we come together to
Keep a True Lent

The  Christian Lenten season focuses on the idea of 'metanoia'. It is a time of contemplation and intentional 'fasting'.  It is a time of letting go of limiting beliefs, unskillful behaviors, or ways of thinking, seeing or being that are no longer beneficial in our lives.

Regardless of our personal spiritual paths, metanoia is a practice that can help all of us open to making changes in our lives that bring more peace, more love and
more joy.

The Lenten season begins March 1 and continues until April 13.
