 SOUL FRIENDS
 Circle of Belonging

During the month of JUNE Reverend Glenda and Reverend Judy invite us to focus attention on relationship as spiritual practice.

They will help us embrace the idea that soul friends help us grow in spiritual awareness as we traverse our soul's journey.

They will help us see the real value of finding others who are willing to walk by our sides, listen to us talk about life, especially our spiritual life, and whose support helps us move into a greater freedom in embracing our humanity and expressing our divinity.

They will help us explore the idea that relationship as spiritual practice is grounded in a shared view of how we see the world, how we process the events that shape our lives .

We will open to the idea that soul friendship is organic, embodied, shares a common language, and listens deeply rather than gives advice.

We will be invited to embrace the idea that soul friends hold us accountable to our highest potential and expect us to do the same in return; loving and accepting us no matter what; that they hold us and comfort us when things go wrong and help us find meaning in whatever left us feeling hurt or angry.

This month's talk series is an invitation to find safe harbor to explore the deepest questions of our lives, questions about God, Spirit, Ultimate Reality, meaning, purpose, and calling.

Take time to be present with us as we cultivate the capacity to be ourselves, to be seen fully for who we are, and more importantly, to open to who and what we might become as we grow more and more deeply aligned with the Real, the True, the Good, and the Beautiful.

Please join us every Sunday in June. Common Ground is the perfect place for anyone who is spiritually independent and open to spirituality without borders. We are an open accepting spiritual community where everyone is welcome.

Please join us each Sunday at 10:30 am.

  •  INTEGRITY HOUSE
     Alliance of Abilities

    SOMETHING NEW

  • Common Ground is pleased to support various non-profit organizations through its Outreach and Tithing programs.

This summer, beginning in June, the men of Common Ground will take a tour of Integrity House, associated with Alliance of Abilities, which is committed to serving the social and housing needs of adults with cognitive disabilities through the establishment and support of Clubhouses based on the Fountain House Model. The fact-finding tour will help determine the best way for Common Ground to participate in the needs of the Integrity House program. More information will follow.

In the meantime, Common Grounders and friends are invited to donate men's wear. There is a need for new undergarments and socks as well as gently worn clothing for use by the clients at Integrity House. Donations will be accepted at Common Ground on Sundays and during normal business hours throughout the week.

This is a meaningful way for Common Ground to support the mission of Alliance of Abilities. Alliance of Abilities founds and maintains clubhouses in partnership with people with a traumatic brain injury or developmental disability, so they can build meaningful lives with the help of a supportive community. An Alliance clubhouse is a safe place where the emphasis is on individual abilities instead of disabilities, where everyone is respected as a responsible adult whose hard work and commitment contribute to the smooth running of their clubhouse.

Stay tuned for details about how Common Ground will become involved at Integrity House.

  •  PRAYER & MEDITATION
     Bless Our Friends

    Prayer for Friendship

You have blessed us, O God,
    with the gift of friendship,
    the bonding of persons
    in a circle of love.
We thank you for such a blessing:
    for friends who love us,
    who share our sorrows,
who laugh with us in celebration,
    who bear our pain,
who need us as we need them,
    who weep as we weep,
who hold us when words fail,
and who give us the freedom
    to be ourselves.
    Bless our friends with health,
    wholeness, life, and love.
    Amen.

     TITHING 2014
May All That We Give and All The We Receive Be Blessed and Multiplied. As We Give, So Shall We Receive ~ Common Ground is truly blessed and in turn becomes a blessing in the world

Common Ground reaches out to the global community through our spiritual practice of conscious giving.

Giving back to the world is an important aspect of our mission and vision. A balanced integral approach is reflected in conscious selection of 501c3 qualified programs and institutions to which Common Ground provides tithes each month.

Recipients of Common Ground 2013 tithes include: IONS (Institute of Noetic Sciences), advancing the science of consciousness and human experience to serve individual and collective transformation; Kiva, empowering people to lift themselves out of poverty; Project HOPE School, (Homeless Outreach Program in Education), helping children without permanent homes transition into the mainstream educational system; Walking Shield, helping to improve the quality of life for American Indian families; , The Humane Society of Dover-Stewart County, a not-for-profit organization rescuing abused, abandoned and neglected animals and placing them into good homes, Mercy House Fare Share Program, providing bus passes for homeless men, women and children in search of a better life, The Avielle Foundation, a non-profit foundation created by the parents of a child victim of the Sandy Hook killings, aiming to support and protect vulnerable loved ones and to strengthen communities through brain health initiatives and community engagement; Breast Cancer Angels, a not-for-profit organization providing financial, emotional and spiritual assistance for women and their families as they are going through breast cancer treatment; and Willows in the Wind, a not-for-profit organization supporting families with teens and young adults in crisis.

The organizations to which Common Ground tithes are meaningful programs where people from the spiritual community and its friends are already serving with heart and hand, and supporting with time and treasure.
