GOLDEN CIRCLE
Realizing Success
Common Ground is pleased to announce its successful relocation to a new facility at 550 North Golden Circle Drive, Santa Ana, CA 92705.
First impressions of the new location have resulted in a very high approval rating. Thanks to the generous donations of community members over the years, every room is graciously appointed with lovingly used furnishings, artwork and accessories.
Each area has a unique theme and yet the eclectic nature of the whole results in a perfect out picturing of the vision and mission of Common Ground. There is a place for everything and everyone and it all works together in beautiful harmony.
Words do not adequately describe the energy of the space or of the spiritual community. There is a felt resonance that is palpable.
Great attention has been placed on creating gathering places within the center where people can connect, congregate and share hospitality.
Refinement and beauty have been a high priority as is seen in the elegance and graceful appointments of the sanctuary itself.
Inclusion of Spiral Dynamics concepts and what Ken Wilber would call 'all quadrants' has been important in the overall design of the sanctuary space.
There is a large 70 inch LCD screen for visual presentations each Sunday, a new sound system that is state of the art, a welcoming fireplace on the platform, abundant flickering candles as a reminder of the sacred aspect of light, ornate copper screens with brilliantly colored 'jewels' gracing a full set of windows, abundant greenery bringing in the aspect of nature, Tiffany torchiere floor lamps, and curved seating to provide a sense of inclusion.
All in all, it's an experience.
Come see for yourself. Everyone is welcome.

GREENLADY BOUTIQUE & MORE
Shopping at Common Ground
One of the exciting new ideas that has recently taken birth at Common Ground is the inclusion of an upscale resale boutique featuring ladies fashions, accessories and gift items.
The project has been so successful that sales during the holidays in 2012 were far greater than expected and abundantly helped supplement the very high rent at the Newport Avenue location.
With relocation to Golden Circle there is increased opportunity to offer high quality resale merchandise.
Due to the configuration of space at the new location, the Bookstore, which was previously a separate entity, has been significantly shifted in focus and blended with the GreenLady Boutique. The new shop will be called The GreenLady Boutique & More.
The increased use of digital books and readers has had a significant impact on book sales over the past few years. For that reason, less actual book inventory will be housed in the new shop.
However, special order books, popular books, gift books, and books from which The Revs are speaking will continue to be available as will statues, tarot cards, meditation beads, incense, spiritual gift items, and more.
Exciting new fall merchandise is now available. Many designer labels and up-to-the-minute fashions are on the racks. Come check it out. Your purchases support the vision and mission of Common Ground.
Donations of current season fashions, accessories and upscale gift items are now being accepted. Tax receipts are available upon request.

COMPASSION GAMES
Survival of the Kindest
Common Ground is pleased to expand its Outreach efforts to include participation in Compassion Games.
You may be wondering, "What are Compassion Games and how do you play?" The answer is simple. There are as many ways to play the games as there are acts of compassion.
During the 11 Days between 9/11 and 9/21 Common Ground is pleased to support the awesome efforts of SARAH's State of Compassion Initiative in an effort to highlight the need for compassion and kindness on our planet.
There will be a planning session at Common Ground on Sunday, August 11, from 1 to 2 pm, to come up with a plan of action. Marilyn Longo has stepped up as team lead. Everyone who is interested in participating in the games is invited to come share ideas.
As part of The Compassion Games Common Ground will join Footprints Around the World for Peace at 12 noon on September 21st by ringing a peace bell and conducting a special walk, meditation or concert.
Stay tuned for details.
Please take time to read and sign The Charter for Compassion to add your energy to this worthwhile idea.
The Charter for Compassion is a document that transcends religious, ideological, and national differences. Supported by leading thinkers from many traditions, the Charter activates the Golden Rule around the world.
The Charter for Compassion is a cooperative effort to restore not only compassionate thinking but, more importantly, compassionate action to the center of religious, moral and political life. Compassion is the principled determination to put ourselves in the shoes of the other, and lies at the heart of all religious and ethical systems.
