 JOURNEY OF THE HEROIC SOUL
 Passion for the Possible

During the month of MARCH Reverend Glenda and Reverend Judy invite us to join them in celebration of the renewal and promise of springtime.

They will help us move beyond our ordinary, habitual ways of being to the essence of who and what we really are or can be.

We will be encouraged to embrace the power and capacity we have to do good, beautiful, brilliant things in the world.

Drawing upon the work of Jean Houston, they will help us explore the larger story of ourselves and our world as we grow in our own unique hero's journey.

This talk series will take us into a revitalized awareness of the infinite possibilities all around us.

Anyone who is ready to step into a grander self, a bigger story will be invited to take a leap of faith and live in an expanded way.

Please join us at Common Ground for our 10:30 am inspirational service.

  •  CONTEMPORARY MASTERS SERIES
Jean Houston, Ph.D., scholar, philosopher and researcher in Human Capacities

On Sunday, March 10, from 1 to 3 pm, Reverend Glenda and Reverend Judy will present the second in a series of 2-hour workshops featuring the life and times, worldview, and philosophy of one of the world's foremost contemporary master teachers.

This month's workshop focuses on exploration of the teachings of Jean Houston, long regarded as one of the principal founders of the Human Potential Movement..

The workshop will expand upon and support the general theme of Sunday talks for March, which are based on material from Jean Houston's book, The Wizard of Us: Transformational Lessons from Oz.

The workshop will be an integral experience combining audio/video presentations and discussion.

Dr. Houston is noted for her ability to combine a deep knowledge of history, culture, new science, spirituality and human development into her teaching. She is known for her inter-disciplinary perspective delivered in inspirational and humorous keynote addresses. Her lifetime passion is to encourage the inherent possibilities, visions and capacities that lie within each person and/or group, and translate them into positive action.

Jean Houston says: "In our time we have come to the stage where the real work of humanity begins.

It is the time where we partner with Creation in the creation of ourselves, in the restoration of the biosphere, the regenesis of society and in the assuming of a new type of culture; the culture of Kindness.

Herein, we live daily life reconnected and recharged by the Source, so as to become liberated and engaged in the world and in our tasks."

"Jean Houston's mind should be considered a national treasure", said Buckminster Fuller, a renowned American philosopher, thinker, visionary, inventor, architect, engineer, mathematician, poet and cosmologist.

Don't miss this opportunity to join with the Revs in exploration of the teachings and ideas that have helped form the foundation of Common Ground and a spiritual perspective that understands the need to embrace our own humanity and that of others while remembering to express our divinity and see the divinity in other beings on the planet.

     FOCUS ON THE ENVIRONMENT
     Carlsbad Flower Fields

The annual burst of color in bloom on a 50 acre hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean is one of nature's official ways of announcing the arrival of spring in southern California.

For over sixty years, the rolling hills of Carlsbad have been a spectacular and coordinated display of natural color and beauty provided by the swath of red, orange, yellow, green, and purple blossoms.

The Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up The Flower Fields are in a full bloom for approximately six to eight weeks each year - from early March through early May - literally bringing the famous fields back to life.

Besides the blossom show at the Flower Fields, there is a Miniature Rose Garden, a poinsettia greenhouse, a sweet pea maze and a display that includes each of the more than 180 All-American Rose selection winners since 1940. For an extra fee, you can take a wagon ride around the fields or mine for gems in a simulated gold-panning setup.

There is a full calendar of Special Events at the Flower Fields every year!

Tickets are available online or at the fields. Take time to enjoy the spectacular beauty of nature.

Carlsbad Flower Fields are located at 5704 Paseo Del Norte, Carlsbad, CA, in north San Diego County, just off I-5. Call (760) 431-0352 for information.

     CAMPAIGN COUNTDOWN
     Ceativity, Contributions & Commitment

There is one month left for Common Ground to realize its current Capital Campaign target goal of $90,000. The campaign will fund our upcoming relocation expenses.

If you haven't already done so, please help us reach our fund raising total by digging deep, by finding creative ways to generate capital, and by making a commitment to community.

A loose change collection jar has been placed in the Salon for those who are willing to empty piggy banks and pockets in support of our project.

A special gathering will be held in early April to celebrate the campaign's success.

Everyone who has made a contribution to the program will be invited to join in creating a unique one-of-a-kind donor recognition art piece for display at our new sanctuary. Each person will add their own hand print and signature to the artwork.

It will be an enduring statement of support of Common Ground.

  •  TITHING 2013
May All That We Give and All The We Receive Be Blessed and Multiplied. As We Give, So Shall We Receive ~ Common Ground is truly blessed and in turn becomes a blessing in the world

Common Ground reaches out to the global community through our spiritual practice of conscious giving.

Giving back to the world is an important aspect of our mission and vision. A balanced integral approach is reflected in conscious selection of 501c3 qualified programs and institutions to which Common Ground provides tithes each month.

Recipients of Common Ground 2013 tithes include: IONS (Institute of Noetic Sciences), advancing the science of consciousness and human experience to serve individual and collective transformation; Kiva, empowering people to lift themselves out of poverty; Project HOPE School, (Homeless Outreach Program in Education), helping children without permanent homes transition into the mainstream educational system; Walking Shield, helping to improve the quality of life for American Indian families; and, The Humane Society of Dover-Stewart County, a not-for-profit organization rescuing abused, abandoned and neglected animals and placing them into good homes.

The organizations to which Common Ground tithes are meaningful programs where people from the spiritual community and its friends are already serving with heart and hand, and supporting with time and treasure.
