Intense Suspense -- Virginia Willis Takes on "Chopped" November 27
As exhilarating as the experience was, Virginia Willis says being a "Chopped" chef-testant was one of the hardest things she's ever done. This coming from one of the South's grand dames of cheffing, a hard worker who has worked her way up through the culinary world since age 16. We're sure Willis handles the challenges of this high-pressure competition with true southern grace and some fast-thinking chutzpah. Her Food Network episode premieres Tuesday, November 27 at 10 p.m.

Truly Living Well hosts two markets from 2-6 p.m. each week, in East Point on Wednesday afternoons and on Friday afternoons at their Wheat Street Garden location near the Martin Luther King Jr. National Park. On Friday, November 30 from 4-6 p.m., Bantam + Biddy Chef Lance Gummere will lead a demo. Come watch and learn; if you get hungry, you can zip over to Bantam + Biddy in Ansley Mall for a flavorful meal featuring pastured poultry. Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar Swizzles Up Holly Jolly Holiday Cocktails
Move aside, eggnog and wassail. Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar is loosening your lock on the cup-o-cheer with a couple of new holiday cocktails for the over-21 crowd. Available December 1-31, Haute Holiday ($10.95) mingles Quady Elysium (muscat dessert wine), St. Germain Elderflower liqueur and Mionetto prosecco in a champagne flute and garnishes the beauty with a Luxardo cherry. Merry Mint Spice ($11.95) is a right jolly julep of Gentleman Jack, Domaine De Canton, POM juice for antioxidant power and simple syrup plus fresh mint leaves for zesty holiday greenery. Fleming's is a reindeer hop across the street from Perimeter Mall shopping. You decide -- cocktails before or after? Although, a couple of these could lead to some impulse buys and serious rockin' around the Christmas tree.

Woodfire Grill and Sierra Nevada Brewing Company -- Two Landmarks Craft December 6 Beer Dinner
In 1978, Ken Grossman and Paul Camusi cobbled together a microbrewery in Chico, Calif. using components from a former soft drink bottling facility. Grossman was an avid backpacker so he named their venture after his favorite hiking grounds, the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Similar to its landmark namesake, Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. has been dubbed a landmark in the American craft beer landscape since turning out its first batch in 1980. On Thursday, December 6, Woodfire Grill Chef de Cuisine E. J. Hodgkinson crafts a four-course dinner paired with Sierra Nevada brews -- Torpedo Extra IPA, Ovila Quadruple, Ovila Golden Ale and Narwhal Imperial Stout. The evening begins with a 6:30 p.m. reception followed by dinner at 7 p.m. $80 per person (plus tax and gratuity). Call 404-347-9055 to reserve your spot.
