2014
Greetings!

"You can't know who you are until you know where you are." -Wendell Berry

Registration is open for our popular Exploring Our Sense of Place (ESP) program! The ESP program is an 8-session seminar series in the field that includes a reception and seven excursions, with lectures by experts on a variety of subjects. ESP participants experience the San Dieguito River Valley in all its seasons, from mountain to sea. It's a unique opportunity to encounter plants and wildlife and connect with the River Valley through heart and mind.

Enrollment for ESP is limited to 25 participants, so don't miss out! Excursions begin early October on Volcan Mountain and end at the San Dieguito Lagoon in Del Mar in May. For more details, including the dates and topics for each excursion, visit our website.

Download the
application form.

Join Executive Director Trish Boaz for hikes in the River Park throughout the year!

On Thursday, July 17, Executive Directors Trish Boaz (SDRVC) and Colleen Bradley (Volcan Mountain Foundation), joined by other enthusiastic hikers, explored Volcan Mountain. Traversing the Five Oaks Trail to the Summit Trail provided the hikers with gorgeous views of the watershed, deer, cultural resources, and new plant life! We loved meeting so many cool people on the trail, including Cheryl Brehme from USGS, who was checking on their badger surveys.
