Feature of the Week: Welcome Grades 1 - 8!

Grades 1 through 8 had an amazing first week, and it was so great to have the hallways filled with the students' bright smiles and laughter. We are looking forward to all of our PreK-3, PreK-4 and Kindergarten students joining in the fun and learning next week!!!

Price: $100 per golfer
Includes: Greens Fees, Range Balls, Cart, Luncheon with Open Bar

Gym Class Schedule for Grades 1 - 8 (*Note: Grades 1 - 8 begin gym class the week of 9/11. PreK-4 and K begin in October and PreK-3 begins in November. PreK and K classroom teachers will communicate your student's gym class day):
Mondays: 5-32, 1-17
Tuesdays: 7-33, 1-15
Wednesdays: 6-34, 4-21, 2-22, 8-31
Thursdays: 3-23, 3-24, 2-29
Calling All Soccer Players in Grades 6 to 8
OLPR's CYO Boys' Team signups are Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. at Samuels (Belgrade and Tioga). The girls team also has some spots open for new players. Girls can sign up at practice on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. at Samuels.
After School CARES Registration
Registration continues for our After School CARES program. If you are interested in registering your student, please call the school office at 215-739-1920. For more information about our CARES program, click here.
OLPR Dance Program
OLPR and Mrs. Kelly Ferro will once again be offering dance classes for all grades after school. Classes will begin in October and will be held on either Mondays or Tuesdays based on your child's grade. More information is forthcoming and registration will be held in the beginning of September. However, in order to determine interest, class sizes and days/time, we are asking any parents who may be interested in signing up their students to email their students' names and grades to Mrs. Kelly at kferro521@aol.com . Scholarship Application Alert!!! CSFP scholarship applications for the 2017-18 school year will open in September. To learn more about the scholarship, click here. Applicants can increase their chances of winning a CSFP scholarship by applying, in person, at the launch event to win 1 of 100 "opening day" scholarships. To learn more about this event, click here. 2017-18 Lottery Application Launch Event* The Please Touch Museum- Carousel House 4231 Avenue of the Republic Philadelphia, PA 19131 September 14, 2016 9:45am *Families unable to attend the launch event may apply online (starting September 14) to be one of 2,000 scholarship winners through CSFP's regular lottery. Priority is given to applicants who submit by November 15th. Only one application per family allowed.
Dismissal Procedures
Due to the increase in enrollment, students in Grades 6, 7 and 8 will be dismissed via the Madison Street doors. Grades 2 through 5 will be dismissed via the Thompson Street doors. Students in Grades PreK-4 through 1 will be dismissed in the Edgemont Street school yard. PreK-3 will be dismissed on Thompson Street.

Home and School News
I hope everyone had a great first week of school! Next week starts full days and our first fundraiser - the candy bar sale! For each box of candy sold, you receive a $30 credit towards your family fundraising goal. Also, keep in mind that there are many different fundraisers and sales throughout the year to help you meet the family fundraising goal. You don't have to participate in each one. You can pick and choose which ones work best for your family.

Reminders
OLPR Monthly Lottery
Tickets are now on sale. Drawings for these tickets will begin on October 1st. How does it work? Tickets are numbered 000 through 999, and drawings will be based on the evening PA lottery three digit number (straight). If your number comes out, you win $50.00. It's that easy. AND YOU CAN WIN MORE THAN ONCE PER MONTH since your ticket is good every day of the month you purchase it for. The cost is $3.00 per ticket, and all proceeds benefit the school. Selling and purchasing OLPR's Monthly Lottery tickets counts toward your family fundraising goal! Families who sell a block of 50 tickets in a month will receive $12.50 towards their goal. Families who sell a block of 25 tickets in a month will receive a $5.00 credit. Families must sell either 50 or 25 tickets in a given month to get this credit. Click here to view the flyer.
