Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! This week, we welcome back grades 1 through 8. We are so excited to see everyone and to meet our new families! This year is going to be the best yet, and we cannot wait to get started. Be sure to see the full back-to-school schedule below for all of the important dates and times.

After School CARES Registration
Registration for our After School CARES program will take place on Tuesday, September 6th beginning at 6:30 p.m. *Note: this is the same date/time as the PreK and K parent meeting. For more information about our CARES program, click here. OLPR Dance Program OLPR and Mrs. Kelly Ferro will once again be offering dance classes for all grades after school. Classes will begin in October and will be held on either Mondays or Tuesdays based on your child's grade. More information is forthcoming and registration will be held in the beginning of September. However, in order to determine interest, class sizes and days/time, we are asking any parents who may be interested in signing up their students to email their students' names and grades to Mrs. Kelly at kferro521@aol.com . 2016-2017 Stationery Lists
Parents/Guardians of Students in Grades 1 - 8 Only: If you were unable to attend one of our stationery sale dates and need to purchase stationery for your student, please send a check or cash into the school office in an envelope with your student's name, grade, amount and requested supplies, and we will have stationery ready for your student.

Dismissal Procedures Due to the increase in enrollment, students in Grades 7 and 8 will be dismissed via the Madison Street doors. Grades 2 through 6 will be dismissed via the Thompson Street doors. Students in Grades PreK-4 through 1 will be dismissed in the Edgemont Street school yard. PreK-3 will be dismissed on Thompson Street.
2016-2017 Dress Code and Uniform Policy Click here to view the full dress code/uniform policy for the 2016-2017 school year. *Please note the following update to the uniform policy for boys in grades K-8. Boys in grades k through 8 need to wear a black or brown belt with the summer uniform, as well as with the winter uniform. Summer Packets Students in grades 1 through 8 are required to complete the summer packets that they received at the end of the 2015-2016 school year. If you have a new student and have not yet picked-up your student's summer packet, please do so as soon as possible. Summer packets are NOT optional. All completed packets are due back the first day of school and count as your student's first grades for the new school year. Admission Cards All students will be required to have an admission card to enter school on the first day. In order to receive an admission card, all payments on tuition and fees must be current, including any late fees or NSF charges to your TADS account, and all new student (and missing current student) information and forms must be filed to the school office (see below).
New Student Paperwork Below is a checklist of forms and documents that must be completed for ALL new students and returned to the school office in order for us to create your student's permanent record card. This information is due as soon as possible. We must have all of this information on file in order for your student to receive his/her admission card to enter school on the first day. - Copy of student's birth certificate (*required)
- Copy of student's Baptismal certificate (*required if your student is Baptized)
- Current immunization records (*required)
- Medical and Dental Forms (*required for new students entering Kindergarten or Grade 1). Click here to view/print form.
- Copy of student's report card (*required for transfer students only. Note: you will also be required to sign a release form at the school office so that we can request transcripts from your child's current school)
- If your student has a learning assessment, a psychoeducational evaluation or an IEP, please provide us with a copy. (*required if applicable)
- If there are any court orders regarding legal and physical custody of a child, please provide us with a copy (*required if applicable)
- School bus form
- After School CARES form
*Note for RETURNING families: if you received communication from us that any of the above forms have not been filed to us, you MUST send in the missing documents in order to receive your student's admission card.

Home and School News
Welcome back to our returning families! To our new families, welcome to OLPR! I hope you all enjoyed a fun-filled summer and are ready for another exciting and successful school year.
The Home and School Board has been working hard on new ideas for fundraising and social events. If you have any suggestions, comments or questions, please send them to homeandschool@ourladyofportrichmond.com. Our first general home and school meeting of the year will be held on Thursday, September 15th. I am looking forward to seeing everyone there! Reminders
OLPR Monthly Lottery Tickets are now on sale. Drawings for these tickets will begin on October 1st. How does it work? Tickets are numbered 000 through 999, and drawings will be based on the evening PA lottery three digit number (straight). If your number comes out, you win $50.00. It's that easy. AND YOU CAN WIN MORE THAN ONCE PER MONTH since your ticket is good every day of the month you purchase it for. The cost is $3.00 per ticket, and all proceeds benefit the school. Selling and purchasing OLPR's Monthly Lottery tickets counts toward your family fundraising goal! Families who sell a block of 50 tickets in a month will receive $12.50 towards their goal. Families who sell a block of 25 tickets in a month will receive a $5.00 credit. Families must sell either 50 or 25 tickets in a given month to get this credit. Click here to view the flyer.
