Welcome New Board Members!
Sue Miller-Tully
Sue practiced law in Tucson for many years, primarily as General Counsel at Canyon Ranch and as a Civil Attorney at DeConini.  Since she retired her efforts have been focused on volunteering with non-profits focused on kids.  Sue will be serving on the Program and Personnel Committee.  Sue and her husband John, also an attorney, have three children.  Welcome to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson Sue!
Tom Muise
Tom is the Director/District Operations of Southwest Gas Southern Arizona Division.  He has worked in the natural gas distribution business since 1981.  He is the father of four, and has five grandchildren. Tom enjoys the outdoors, including camping, fishing, hunting, and riding ATVs.  Welcome to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson Tom!
Melissa Triano
Melissa is is a Private Mortgage Banker with Wells Fargo and works as a Physician Consultant for McKesson Medical Surgical. She has been involved in the community as a former committee member of The American Heart Association and acts as the Executive Director for the Tucson Ladies Council.  Melissa will be serving on the Party Committee.  Welcome to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tucson Melissa! 
Staff Member Showcase - Julia Tenen
Health & Physical Education Director at the Roy Drachman Clubhouse
 

Julia has been with us approximately one month! She comes with a varied background in sports including Ultimate Frisbee, Pole Vaulting, Basketball, and Cycling. Julia completed a Bachelor's degree in Geography, spent some time in Japan teaching English to Japanese students, and is also currently helping a Somali refugee family. Julia is looking forward to interacting with the youth at Roy Drachman and teaching them Ultimate Frisbee!  

Changes in Admin...

Monica Galaz has changed positions and is now Executive Assistant to the CEO and Board! She also moved offices and you can find her down the hallway next to Linda.

 

John Maciejewski started as a temp with us back at the beginning of March. We have offered John a position with us and he is going to stay on as part of our Front Desk Team!

 

Welcome back to Rebecca Valenzuela! Rebecca is officially back from her educational leave and is resuming her position at the front desk.

Congratulations to our Scholarship Recipients from the Frank & Edith Morton Clubhouse!

Pam Grissom Scholarship - Congratulations to Gloria Vargas, Azul Beltran and Amanda Gonzalez for receiving a 2-year scholarship to Pima Community College (including tuition/books/fees).  Thank you to board member Pam Grissom for this wonderful opportunity!

ROSS Stores Scholarship & Darden Scholarship - Congratulations to Alan Truong, Frank & Edith Morton Boy of the Year in 2013, who was the recipient of the $2,000 ROSS Stores Scholarship and $3,000 Darden Scholarship! 

All of the scholarship recipients, along with our City Youth of the Year, David Johnson, will be graduating high school this week.  Congratulations! 
Another great outcome of being in the clubhouses...
Armando Fuentes, our Holmes Tuttle Clubhouse Boy Youth of the Year in 2013, stopped by this week for a visit!  He is enlisted in the Navy and has his education and career path laid out to become an electrical engineer. Armando will be heading to Virginia next week before finding out where his deployment will be. We are so proud to share another great outcome of being in the clubhouses!
