VOTING LOCATIONS WEB APPLICATION |
The York County Planning Commission assisted the York County Elections and Voter Registration Department by creating a web mapping application to help voters find their polling place. This application allows the user to enter their address and zoom into their property. Once zoomed in, they can click on their property to view polling place information. A link is enabled that will take them to google maps where they can easily get driving/walking directions to their specific location.

PROPOSED I-83 EXIT 4 INTERCHANGE IMPROVEMENTS
|
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation invites the public to an informational public meeting on Wednesday, March 30, regarding the proposed improvements at the Exit 4 interchange between Interstate 83 and Route 851 just east of Shrewsbury in York County. The meeting will be held at the Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company at 21 West Forrest Avenue in Shrewsbury and will follow an "open house format" between 6 PM and 8 PM. Though there is no formal presentation by the design team at the meeting, the open house format allows people to attend at their convenience anytime between 6 PM and 8 PM to view the displays and speak one-on-one with project personnel.
The purpose of the meeting is to show two improvement options that were studied for this interchange that will improve traffic flow, reduce backups, and increase safety for the public. Of the two options studied, PennDOT recommends the diverging diamond interchange, which is a new design concept in south central Pennsylvania. The meeting will also allow the design team to receive public input on the project, as well as answer community members' questions or concerns. The I-83 Exit 4 improvements may begin in 2018.
PennDOT's website address is www.penndot.gov. The direct link for the I-83 Exit
The Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company is accessible to anyone with disabilities. Anyone with special needs or requiring assistance should contact Todd Scott, Director of Public Involvement Services at (717) 652-0100 ext. 190 or tscott@sacunas.net.
