Flotsam and Jetsam - Got Activities?
The Summer issue of F&J is online! The theme of this edition is "Stewardship", and this edition contains a number of articles and classroom activities related to MME's work and citizen science.

We are always looking for educators to share their great stories and lesson plans! Please contact the F&J Editor if you are able to contribute.
OPPORTUNITIES FROM MEMBERS AND PARTNERS
Ocean Literacy Summit
The New England Ocean Science Education Collaborative will be holding its biennial Ocean Literacy Summit from November 6-7, 2014 in Woods Hole. The theme this year is OL Principle #6: Humans and the Oceans are Inextricably Connected". For more information, click here!
Bilingual Ocean Literacy Resources
Developed and scripted with marine biologists, AP Marine Biology students from Animo Leadership High School in California have produced some bilingual videos about marine resources.  These videos feature Check them out here!
Maritime Gloucester Summer Programs
Located on historic Harbor Loop, Maritime Gloucester offers a number of day programs and drop-in opportunities for youth. For more information, check out click here or visit the website
Coastal Ocean Science Academy (COSA)
Students are invited to take part in the COSA program at Northeastern University's Marine Science Center. A week-long middle school program runs from July 21-25, and a two-week long high school program runs from August 11-22. Click here for more info. 
Fall Sea Perch Workshops
This autumn, join the Museum Institute for Teaching Science for professional development on how you can launch the Sea Perch program in your school. Dates are Sept 29/30 at MIT, and November 13/14 at the South Shore Natural Science Center. For more information, please click here.
