2014 Marine Art Contest 
In collaboration with the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary, MME is hosting its Annual Marine Art Contest. This year's theme is "Amazing Ocean Creatures of Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary".  The deadline for submission is May 2, 2014.  For more information, click here.

Flotsam and Jetsam - Got Activities?
The Spring issue of F&J is online! The theme of this edition is "Marine Paleontology", and this edition contains a number of articles and classroom activities related to geology and marine fossils.

We are always looking for educators to share their great stories and lesson plans! Please contact the F&J Editor if you are able to contribute.

Trash Talking Turtles
A creative approach to solving local and global trash problems!

Plastics at Sea: The Science of Ocean Garbage Patches

Maritime Gloucester Summer Programs

Coastal Ocean Science Academy (COSA)
Students are invited to take part in the COSA program at Northeastern University's Marine Science Center. A week-long middle school program runs from July 21-15, and a two-week long high school program runs from August 11-22. Click here for more info. 
Alliance for Climate Education
MME was pleased to host ACE as a keynote presenter at its recent North Shore HS Marine Science Symposium.  Students learned about what they can do to be a part of the solution.  ACE has a webpage dedicated to oceans and climate change that it's pleased to share with the marine education community...check it out here!
2014 From the Bow Seat Contest

From the Bow Seat announces its contest for 2014, which invites high school students to compete for cash prizes by tackling the issue of Plastic Pollution in the Ocean, individually or collaboratively, through ART, ADVOCACY or ESSAY options. The deadline is June 15, 2014, and more information can be found here
