"The effects of changing oceans on Boston Harbor"

Winners of the 2013 Art Contest
MME's Annual Art contest saw 726 entries from over 60 schools as well as homeschoolers. This year's theme was "Amazing Ocean Creatures of Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary".  Winning artwork and several of the honorable mentions have been framed and are now part of a traveling exhibit that will tour public venues starting in September and continuing throughout the 2013-2014 school year.  Congrats to all of the talented young marine artists out there!

2014 From the Bow Seat Contest

From the Bow Seat announces its contest for 2014, which invites high school students to compete for cash prizes by tackling the issue of Plastic Pollution in the Ocean, individually or collaboratively, through ART, ADVOCACY or ESSAY options.

Project WET training
Join the Department of Conservation and Recreation for a Project WET training on Saturday, October 26th from 8:30am - 3:00pm. Project WET (Watershed Education for Teachers) is a curriculum for all grade levels and is correlated to state frameworks. This and other teacher PD opportunities can be found on the MAST website.

NU Marine Science Center Open House
The Northeastern University Marine Science Center is holding its annual Open House on Saturday, October 5th from 10am-3pm (rain date Oct 6th). Research, teaching, and outreach will be showcased via hands-on activities, talks, and demonstrations. The event is free and open to the public.
