George Kasotakis, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor of Surgery, Boston University School of Medicine, Staff Physician, Boston Medical Center, received his medical degree from the School of Medicine, University of Crete in Heraklion, Greece. He completed his General Surgery Residency at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, NE and both a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship and Acute Care Surgery Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. In addition, Dr. Kasotakis holds a Masters of Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health. He is currently researching novel anti-inflammatory formulations to mitigate the sequelae of acute lung injury and sepsis, and conducting quality and outcomes research in trauma and emergency surgery.

 

 

Nicole Kissane-Lee, MD, EdM

Nicole Kissane-Lee, MD, EdM, Section of Bariatric Surgery
Nicole Kissane-Lee, MD, EdM, Assistant Professor of Surgery, Boston University School of Medicine, Staff Physician, Boston Medical Center, is a graduate of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA and received her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. In addition, she holds a Master of Education from Harvard University. Dr. Kissane-Lee completed her residency in general surgery at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL and completed an Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital as well as a Fellowship in Medical Simulation at the STRATUS Center for Medical Simulation at Brigham and Women's Hospital. In addition to her role as attending surgeon in the Section of Bariatric Surgery, Dr. Kissane-Lee also serves as Clinical Director of Surgical Simulation at Boston Medical Center and Director of Surgical Education Research for the Department of Surgery. Her clinical and research interests include advanced laparoscopic surgery, metabolic surgery, and the use of simulation in surgical education and surgical research.   

 

 

Hiroko Kunitake, MD, MPH

Hiroko Kunitake, MD, MPH, Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery
Hiroko Kunitake, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor of Surgery, Boston University School of Medicine, Staff Physician, Boston Medical Center, is a graduate of Harvard University and received her medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California in Los Angeles, CA. In addition, Dr. Kunitake holds a Master of Public Health from the University of California in Los Angeles, CA. She completed her residency in general surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and completed a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Kunitake is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and her clinical and research interests include management of rectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease, and research in colorectal surgery outcomes and quality.  

 

 

Ewald Ray Mendeszoon Jr., DPM

Ewald Ray Mendeszoon Jr., DPM, Division of Podiatry Surgery
Ewald Ray Mendeszoon Jr., DPM, Clinical Instructor, Boston University School of Medicine, Staff Physician, Boston Medical Center, received his doctor of podiatric medicine from New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York, NY and completed his residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. His research and clinical interests include prophylactic and emergent diabetic foot surgery, the pathogenesis and management of Charcot Arthropathy and sports-related injuries.  

 

 

David Negron, DPM, MBA

David Negron, DPM, MBA, Division of Podiatry Surgery
David Negron, DPM, CWS, DABPS, MBA, Clinical Instructor, Boston University School of Medicine, Staff Physician, Boston Medical Center, is a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany in Albany, NY and received his doctor of podiatric medicine from New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York, NY. He also holds an MBA from Adelphi University's Robert B. Willumstad School of Business in Garden City, NY. He completed his residency at New York College of Podiatric Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals in New York, NY and a preceptorship at Foot Doctors in Utica, NY. He is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and as a Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) by the Academy of Wound Management. In addition, Dr. Negron is certified in Endoscopic Plantar Fasciotomy. His clinical interests include podiatric surgery and wound care with an emphasis on the diabetic foot.
