CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

This Week in Sunday School
This is our last week studying the Garden of Eden.  We will be playing games that help us think about the choices we make, like the choice Adam and Eve made in the garden.  We will also be watching clips from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to experience how disobeying the rules can change the course of our lives.

Calling Parents and Volunteers!
The structure of our volunteer duties has expanded! Check out our new duties that can take as little as 15 minutes a week!  Please help make our ministry the best it can be.  The more adults we have on a Sunday means smaller class groups and more attention for each child, basically a better program! Katie will send you all the information you need and all the materials will be ready waiting for you on Sunday mornings.  Check out the Sign-Up Genius at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0c4eaba929a13-20153.

We need Teachers and Shepherds for August 30 (this week!) as well as on September 30 when we will be studying Ruth.

We need a second Godly Play helper from August 30 onward, Miss Tanya is back!
Volunteer Training Series

CPR Training for Next Generation Volunteers and Nursery Caretakers: CUC will be hosting a CPR and First Aid class on Sunday, September 20 at 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.  Lunch will be provided.  If you are interested in attending please contact Katie at [email protected]. This will be the first class in a series of training for volunteers at Columbine!

Godly Play Families
Please bring in non-perishable snacks for our children to share.  I would especially appreciate gluten-free snacks!  Thanks! Also you can look forward to new curriculum for your children coming the end of this month!

Children's Sunday School Check-out Procedure  Parents, please remember to be diligent with picking your kids up from the Sunday School classroom. Teachers and Shepherds are being reminded of this protocol as far as only releasing kids when parents are present. Safety is always an expectation and we would like to continue to have a safe and secure place for our children. PLEASE remind your children that they are to wait for you before they can leave the classroom at the end of Sunday School.

 YOUTH MINISTRY

Wednesday Youth Groups Middle School and High School Youth Groups will  meet this week, September 2nd.

Summer Sundays-Youth Style!  There will be church school for 6th through 12th graders at 9:20 a.m.  Worship together at 10 am, followed by lunch. Contact [email protected] for more information.

Questions about anything "CUC Youth" related? Contact our Youth Director, Carla Larson at [email protected].

Judi and Tom Hosea want to thank all the CUC family for the uplifting thoughts and prayers for Judi during her successful first phase of chemo treatment for lymphoma cancer.

We are grateful for the rain and no major wildfires in Colorado this summer.  Our prayers are with all those whose homes have been destroyed by the many fires raging across the West.

Prayers for Joanne York, who is in hospice care.

Prayers for Judi Hosea in her battle against lymphoma cancer. Her stem cell replacement will be in about 3 weeks.

We ask that you keep the following in your prayers. Although the immediate crisis may be over, we want our church family to know they continue to be in our thoughts and prayers: Ken and Heather Beckey, Jeff and Kathy Barenberg, Lola Edgell, Kelly Hardison and family, Marian & Ed Hollingshead, Jeff and Linda Veres, the Leach Family, Ruth Teason, the Dye Family, and Ann Wipperman.
