Grants Available for Business Property Improvements

The Escondido City Council recently approved an allocation of $100,000 for the Facade and Property Improvement Program as part of the fiscal year 2014-2015 Capital Improvement Project budget. Business properties can qualify for up to $20,000 in matching grant funds for making exterior improvements. Recent grant recipients include BK Cellars Urban Winery and Tasting Lounge, and Plan 9 Alehouse.

HERO Program Launches in Escondido
The Home Energy Retrofit Opportunity program, or HERO program, has officially launched in Escondido. In April 2014, City Council approved a partnership with HERO to administer Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) loans. HERO allows homeowners to finance energy efficient upgrades through their property tax bill. See if you qualify today! |

teleworkSD - Free Consulting Services for Employers
teleworkSD is a pilot project that will provide free resources for employers who want to explore and implement telework programs in San Diego County.
Telework has proven benefits for employers including an increase in staff productivity, employees who work during peak performance times, reduced air pollution and greenhouse gases, aiding in the recruitment and retention of staff, and reducing the demand for parking and office space.
