Business Spotlight

A recent business visit by the Mayor and City staff introduced them to Susan Wang, owner of Tailored Desserts, located at 339 West Second Avenue. Most hotels and restaurants are limited in their physical space or staffing to incorporate a working baking department. Tailored Desserts fills in that gap. They work with Executive Chefs around the San Diego County to create desserts to pair with their savory menus. "Tailored" is exactly who they are. The bakery takes the time to understand each Chef's personality, nuances in their cooking and transform it all into great desserts that complements their menu. Their product line extends from breakfast pastries, specialty desserts, cakes, pies, tarts, and petite fours. Their products are made fresh daily and delivered to customers daily. Tailored Desserts is proud to be the preferred bakery vendor for San Diego Zoo and Safari Park, Qualcomm, Sempra Energy, Hewlett Packard, Horizon Prep School, Rady's Children Hospital, Scripps Hospitals, and local restaurant, Hotels, Golf clubs and Country Clubs.

Free Sporting Goods Exporters Workshop

Are you a sports equipment manufacturer? Do want to increase sales?Sign up for the free Sporting Goods Exporters Workshop, help May 2nd at Cal State University San Marcos from 9 am to 11:30 am. in Markstein Hall #105. Website: http://sportinggoodsexports.eventbrite.com

The export opportunities for San Diego sporting goods companies are growing as the industry grows worldwide. Emerging overseas markets with impressive growth in the sporting goods industry over the past few years, and the demand for the products produced in the San Diego region, are strong.

Two areas of the world which generally have good potential for the wide variety of local products are Latin America and the Middle East. Particularly in those countries with whom the United States has a Free Trade Agreement (i.e. Central America, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Panama, Bahrain, Israel, Jordan), the opportunities are enormous.

Liberalized trade regulations and reduced, or completely eliminated, tariffs have made these target markets very attractive to the typically smaller companies that populate the San Diego region.

Find out about the free assistance given to companies locally to help make export sales happen!
