Rearview Radar - Keeps You Safe!

The all-new Garmin Varia rearview radar is a groundbreaking bicycle safety unit that uses radar to sense and warn of vehicles approaching from behind. This radar system is the first of its kind and features new technology that is convenient to use on any ride. The rear sensor/light unit brightens and flashes as vehicles get closer, and the bar/stem mount display shows relative distance up to 153 yards away. The Varia works independently with a separate head unit or will integrate with the Garmin Edge compatible computers.

There are many different handlebar sizes and shapes. Finding the right one for you can fine-tune your fit and provide additional comfort. The wrong size can affect your hand position, possibly causing hand numbness, shoulder and neck pain. For optimal control and efficiency, drop handlebars should be about the same width as your shoulders. To properly measure your ideal handlebar width...you will need a friend with a tape measure. Have them stand behind you and measure from shoulder to shoulder along your back at the top of the shoulder. Most bars come 42, 44, 46cm, try and match your shoulder measurement as closely as possible to the bar. Have some questions, please call or email us, we would love to help.

In June this year, Houston lost a great friend and cyclist, Herb Feins. In tribute to him and to help others, there will be a blood drive at the West University store on Saturday, September 19th. Come by between 9am and 3pm that day and share the gift of life with others that might need it someday. The Houston cycling community is a generous and close community, please take the time to support this wonderful cause.
