Join us for the annual Bike Barn Wine Ride out of Haak Vineyards on Sunday, September 28! Enjoy a scenic ride starting in Santa Fe, Texas and then "wine" down with a complimentary tasting of four great Texas wines. After the ride all are welcome to stay and enjoy the afternoon with some lunch under the shaded patio overlooking the vineyard. The Houstonian Club and Bike Barn are bringing Chris Carmichael back to Houston for a unique camp, geared toward athletes looking to take their performance to the next level. Legendary coach Chris Carmichael will personally lead this camp. Whether you enjoy charity cycling tours or the Texas racing scene, this is your chance to learn the benefits of training with power to become stronger and faster. The weekend will include two days of training with CTS, power testing, skills clinic and two rides from 30-50 miles.

Celebrate Hermann Park's Birthday. The Park to Port Bike Ride, on September 13, will be a celebration of the trail development along the bayou. The 20 mile round trip ride will include birthday cake so participants can say "Happy Birthday" to Hermann Park and the Houston Ship Channel. The 10th annual Tour de Pink, benefiting local foundation, Pink Ribbons Project, is right around the corner! This ride takes place Sunday, September 14 and is the first bike ride in Texas solely supporting breast cancer with a focus on breast cancer screening in under-served Houston communities. If you haven't been on a bike in years, there is no better way to get back in the saddle than with a 12 mile fun route. Feeling ambitious? This ride is not your average bike ride. The Magical Museum Mystery Tour features multiple rest stops, food detours and displays from the Houston Bicycle Museum along the way. With ride lengths of 28, 49, and 64 miles, the ride leaves from Katy at the Leonard Merrell Center. Help support a permanent home for the Houston Bicycle Museum.

In August, ten Bike Barn team members traveled to Breckenridge, Colorado to take on Breck Epic. This mountain bike race spans 6 days, is 240 miles long and 'features' roughly 40,000 feet of vertical gain (and loss!) Bike Barn team member, and Breck Epic finisher, Greg Binion, put together an informative (and entertaining) race report. Memorial Park is going through a master planning process that will restore, preserve and enhance the park for enjoyment of all Houstonians and generations to come. You're invited to attend the first of four upcoming Memorial Park Master Plan Public Update Meetings, "A Story of the Park: People in Nature," on Wednesday, September 17 from 6-8 PM at the historic Eldorado Ballroom (2310 Elgin St. Houston, TX 77004).  The longtime Houston cycling tradition, The Memorial Park Criterium Series (MPC), made its return this summer and we want to thank all the racers that made it a success. Over the course of the thirteen-week crit series we saw racers visit the Memorial Park Picnic loop from over 100 different Houston zip codes and over 30,000 miles were raced. Thanks to your support and dedication, the MPC was able to donate $5,000 to the Memorial Park Conservancy! Thanks to the sponsors, vendors, spectators and RACERS that helped make the return of this event bigger and better. Join BikeHouston on October 25th for the 42nd Annual Moonlight Ramble Bicycle Ride. Since 1973, thousands of riders have lit up the streets of Houston for this amazing fully-supported bicycle ride. Starting from the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston at 11:59pm the ramble will have an 8-mile and 20-mile route. Prizes awarded for best costume and best lighted bike. All riders are required to wear a bicycle helmet and have lights on their bikes.
