The Ultimate Urban Race
Come witness Houston's fastest event on two wheels, this Sunday, May 11 on Mother's Day. Yup, bring mom down to enjoy the festivities on Allen Parkway between I-45 and Taft. Watch racers of all levels participate in the 9th Annual Houston Grand Crit with races all day beginning at 7:30 am. This is a family-friendly event that even features kids' races. Join Mayor Parker on Friday, May 9, 2014 for Bike to Work Day. Help raise awareness of cycling in Houston and show your support for the Mayor's efforts toward improving Houston cycling. Encourage your friends and co-workers to take the morning to ride and celebrate with other cycling Houstonians. The City organized Bike to Work ride will depart from Memorial Park at 7:30 and end at the Downtown Central Library for a brief presentation. Air up your tires, put on your best riding attire and meet at Memorial Park. Breakfast will be served at the Downtown Central Library after the ride. Get more information, here.

Experts at the Bike Barn Custom Fit Studio will cover topics including bike position and the importance of aerodynamics. This clinic is for athletes of all levels, from seasoned veterans to those just considering their first triathlon. Walk away with valuable knowledge that will help you with future races. Celebrate women and cycling at Houston's second annual CycloFemme. Enjoy a casual, conversational pace ride of approximately 12 miles through the scenic Heights and into downtown Houston, before returning to the Heights. The ride will have a rest stop at the Houston Grand Crit road races for a quick taste of the excitement, before returning to Happy Fatz. The ride is free and open to women of all riding abilities. Please arrive at Happy Fatz at 8am to enjoy coffee and tasty light bites (free!) before rolling out at 8:45 am.

It's that time of year! The TriGirl Super Sprint will take place this weekend on Sunday, May 11. Come watch as athletes take on options of a sprint triathlon or sprint duathlon. The event takes place out of Alexander Deussen Park on Lake Houston. If you've always thought about giving a triathlon or duathlon a shot - this is the perfect race to come check it out and see what it's all about!

Join BikeHouston and cyclists worldwide on May 21 at 7:00pm in a silent slow paced ride in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways. There have been far too many accidents and deaths on Houston roadways. Please tell your friends and join in this amazing silent memorial to those that were killed or injured. The Ride of Silence will meet at N. Picnic Loop at Memorial Park at 7pm, the ride will go to Market Square Park and return to Memorial Park.

It's back... Bike Barn is pleased to help resurrect this 20 year old tradition in Memorial Park. Since the 90's Houstonians have been meeting and racing bikes in Memorial Park on Wednesday evenings. This is a casual, enjoyable race environment and great spectator venue, perfect for families and friends. All proceeds from this race benefit the Memorial Park Conservancy to help maintain and restore the beloved picnic loop. By racing, you are helping contribute to this great organization. Racing is every Wednesday starting June 4th at 5pm.

The 10th Annual Tour de Pink benefiting the Pink Ribbons Project will be held on Sunday, September 14. Sign up early and get those funds raised for a chance to win various prizes.
