Tour de Pink, benefiting Pink Ribbons Project, is the first bike ride in Texas solely supporting breast cancer! With a focus on breast cancer screening in under-served Houston communities, your fundraising stays LOCAL. Join us for the ninth annual Tour de Pink, with routes for beginners and weekend warriors. Haven't been on a bike in years? What better way to hop back on the saddle than with a 12 mile fun route.  Feeling ambitious? Check out the 63, 80 or 100 mile options. If you have never experienced Bike Around the Bay, put October 12 & 13th on your calendar. This fabulous two day ride showcases the beauty of Galveston Bay. Join us for this fun and challenging 180 mile ride! Invite friends and family to meet you in Galveston for all of the festivities on Saturday night!

 

Summer will be over soon and before you know it the kids will be getting ready to go back to school. Now is the time to stock up on accessories to make sure your kids are ready for the school year! We have a great selection on helmets, locks, kids bikes and much more. Visit your nearest Bike Barn and make sure your young one is ready for school.

Calling all Beginner and Youth Triathletes!  This Saturday we will have two special events with the Bike Barn Tri Club, a Beginner and Youth Brick out of our Katy store. The Beginner brick will roll out at 7am and the Youth (ages 6-15) at 10:30 am. OutRival Racing coaches will be on hand to answer any questions and provide pointers! 

 

Both of these events are FREE!  Hope to see you out there on Saturday!

  

 


The Summertime Blues Triathlon is upon us! Starting and ending at the Old River in Freeport, Texas this weekend on Sunday, August 11th. The race includes a 500 meter saltwater swim, a 25K bike to Quintana Island and back and mostly flat 5K run with a great view of the Old River. If you've already registered you can pick up your packets this week at Bike Barn West University on Thursday, August 8 from 11:30am- 2:30 pm, or Bike Barn Clear Lake Friday, August 9 from 4-6:30pm. See you this weekend!
 

Registration is  open for the Tri Girl Sprint and Duathlon on Sunday, August 18th at Lake Houston. Choose your race with choices of a sprint triathlon or sprint duathlon. You don't need a time trial race bike, just a great attitude and desire to race. This races is perfect for a first timer, so grab some friends and get registered!

Join fit experts in the Custom Fit Studio on Thursday, August 22 at 6pm as they address common saddle issues for roadies, mountain bikers and triathletes. Saddle pain is one of the most common problems that plague cyclists of all levels. Learn helpful tips on improving your comfort and position in the saddle and ways to make riding an overall more enjoyable experience. As always, this is a FREE clinic, just let us know you're coming! 

  

 

 
Exciting things are happening for cyclists in the city of Houston. Join Mayor Annise Parker on Thursday, August 29 at Market Square Park to hear about all the work the city has done in the way of cycling. Then ride with other cyclists down White Oak and back downtown before arriving at a post-ride reception at Niko Niko's in Market Square Park. The suggested donation for the post-ride reception is $25 and includes a beverage at Niko Niko's and supports Mayor Parker's campaign.
 

 

The 16th annual Terra Firma Adventure Races are right around the corner! Choose your own adventure between a Duathlon (5K Run, 15K Bike, 2K Run) as a two - person team or solo, an Adventure Run consisting of a 3 Mile trail run with natural obstacles, or an Extreme Adventure Race (6-12 hours), 3-Person Teams with mandatory and optional checkpoints. Navigation skill are required for the Extreme Adventure Race. Races are held September 21 at Rocky Hill Ranch in Smithville, Texas.

The first Onalaska Half Triathlon located in the town of Onalaska in Lake Livingston will be held Sunday, September 8. Starting with a 2000 meter swim in beautiful Lake Livingston, followed by a 56 mile scenic ride and 13 mile run - this could be your race. There will even be a newbie swim wave for those doing their first triathlon!
