LIBRARY HOURS

The Provo Library is open M-F from 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM. 

The library will be closed on Monday, February 17 for Presidents' Day.

 
Treat your sweetheart to the swankiest Valentine's Day party in town! Join us on Friday, February 14 at 6:00 PM in the Provo City Library Ballroom and sweep your love off their feet! 
 
Tickets are $25 per person. Ticket prices include dinner catered by Marvellous Catering, live music and dancing with CB Jazz, and a rose for each lady. 
 
Tickets will be on sale from January 24 - February 11 at the Events Office (room 213) or by phone at 801-852-7691. Get your tickets before they sell out (view current table availability here)!

Local author, comedian, musician, and storyteller Stephen Gashler will be at the library to discuss his new novel, Prisoner of the Molepeople.

Victoria Wilcox
Thursday, February 20

As founding director of Georgia's Holliday-Dorsey-Fife House Museum, the antebellum home of the Holliday family, Victoria Wilcox discovered the untold story of Doc's relationship to Margaret Mitchell, which led to her writing the historical fiction trilogy, Southern Son: The Saga of Doc Holliday. In this program, Victoria Wilcox will talk about her own novels and the family connection between Margaret Mitchell's classic novel, Gone with the Wind and Western legend Doc Holliday.

Camron Wright

Camron Wright will be at the library to discuss his new novel The Rent Collector. Set in a Cambodian garbage dump, The Rent Collector is a beautiful story about the importance of literacy and its power to change lives, with a poignant message about the strength of the human spirit, survival, and hope. Camron will speak about his experience in Cambodia and Sang Ly, the woman who inspired the story.

Tickets for Fairy Tea will go on sale Saturday, February 15 beginning at 9:00 AM. The line for tickets starts at the South library doors. Doors will open early at 8:00 AM for those waiting in line. Tickets are $5 each for both children and adults. Children must be accompanied by an adult who also must have a ticket. No infants, babies, or toddlers will be admitted to the event. 

A treasured Provo tradition, Fairy Tea includes a short program with the Fairy King and Fairy Princesses, a short ballet, fairy promenade for all girls, and the serving of "tea" iced lemon water and a small plate of fairy goodies. Please come dressed for the occasion in your Sunday best or fairy finery! 

Each ticket holder will receive fairy favors to take home! BYU Bookstore will also be offering books and other fairy boutique items for purchase.
 
Come celebrate our new exhibition space, The Attic at Academy Square, at the Provo City Library Family Art Festival on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 7:00 PM in the Library Ballroom. There will be activities and fun for the whole family!

The space will officially open to the public on February 6, 2014 at 4:00 PM. The first exhibit will be The Original Art: Celebrating the Fine Art of Children's Books from the Society of Illustrators. Don't miss your chance to see original pieces from the year's best children's books and make your own piece of art to take home!
