All throughout July, our various library departments have plenty of options for helping you fill these long summer days. Earn prizes, participate in great activities, and connect with fantastic books and authors through our summer programs. 
Kids Summer Reading
Kids' Summer Programs

 

Summer Make and Take Crafts

June 4 - July 25

Tuesdays & Thursdays | 10:00 am - 12:00 noon.

Room 201

Free crafts for children ages 0 - 12 

Families must have a Provo City Library card or registered Orem Public Library card. Children must be accompanied by an adult. One craft per child.

 

Summer Toddler Time

June 5 - July 17

Every Wednesday

10:00 - 10:30 am & 11:00 - 11:30 am

Story Circle

Songs, stories, and a puppet show for toddlers and their parents/caregivers.

 

Canopy Capers

June 4 - July 25

Every Tuesday & Thursday at 12:00 noon

Bring your lunch and listen to stories outside under a canopy on the southeast lawn of the library.

 

Cuentos: Summer Spanish Story Time

June 3 - July 22

Every Monday, 7 - 7:30 pm 

Story Circle.

Songs, stories, and a puppet show in Spanish for families.

 

End of Summer Reading Party

Veterans Memorial Pool

Exclusive pool party for those who finish the Summer Reading program. Swimming and treats at the Veterans Memorial Pool, 450 W 500 N, Provo (or use your ticket on July 26 - 27).

Swap your gently used books for something new to reads. Ages 10 and up will get to choose one free book just for showing up! Limit of 15 books may be brought to the book swap. 

 

Not So Silent Library for Teens

Come play quick challenge games and try to be the most quiet team! Win prizes for challenges and being silent!

 

Teen Scavenger Hunt

Learn about the library and its resources as well as work on a team to finish first!

All week, get a lead, do the task in the library, and get candy at the desk. 

 

Teen & Adult Grand Prize Drawing

Monday, July 29 | 7:00 pm

Ballroom

Come to the ballroom for treats, door prizes, book-based trivia games, and grand prize drawings! The whole family is welcome; ages 12 and up are eligible for door prizes. Must be present to will door prizes. 

Abandon reality for a night and come to the Provo City Library for an evening of science fiction, fantasy, and the supernatural with local young adult fiction authors. The panel will include Bree Despain (the Dark Divine trilogy and the upcoming Into The Dark trilogy), J.R. Johansson (Insomnia), Elana Johnson (the Possession series), Kasie West (Pivot Point and upcoming The Distance Between Us), and Natalie Whipple (Transparent and upcoming House of Ivy & Sorrow). 

 

This event will be held on July 9 at 7:00 pm in the Ballroom of the Provo City Library. The panel will speak, answer audience questions, and then sign books. The event is free; no tickets required.
