During September 2013, CCAP underwent an intensive review and accreditation process through the Council on Accreditation (COA). As a result, the Council on Accreditation (COA) has again recognized the agency as a provider of essential community programs that continues to successfully implement high performance standards while delivering quality services to traditionally under-resourced individuals and families throughout southeastern North Carolina.
CCAP's accreditation was extended for another four years, extending until December 31, 2017, the maximum accreditation period.
"Ultimate Trust! That's why families and individuals invest in CCAP the time and energy it takes to overcome obstacles and achieve goals. COA accreditation reaffirms how justly deserved the trust is that our constituents place in our ability," remarks Cynthia Wilson, CCAP Chief Executive Officer. "The process of measuring our agency against national standards, affirms CCAP business practices and management philosophies reflect the highest level of consistent, client-focused service delivery and the highest level of integrity. I am thrilled that CCAP has been accorded this prestigious status."
COA reaccreditation is an objective and reliable verification that provides confidence and support to an organization's service recipients, board members, staff and community partners.
The COA process involves a detailed review and analysis of both an organization's administrative operations and its service delivery practices. All are measured against national standards of best practice. These standards emphasize services that are accessible, appropriate, culturally responsive, evidence-based and outcomes-oriented.
Following a site visit that was part of the reaccreditation process, a report was issued to the agency scoring its competency against some 530 of these standards. The report scored CCAP with the highest marks in all applicable standards.

Mt. Sinai and Missionary Baptist Church volunteers
work hard to distribute food to those in need
|
Second Harvest Food Bank, Florence Rogers Charitable Trust, Food Lion, Second Missionary Baptist Church and Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church join together to fight hunger
The Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeast North Carolina's Mobile Food Pantry Program recently leveraged support from several partners to rapidly respond to those in need in Fayetteville.
Recently, SHFB received $25,000 worth of gift cards from Food Lion in $5 increments. Last week, 300 of those gift cards were distributed during a mobile food pantry at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church off of Murchison Road, along with more than 10,000 pounds of food.
The event assisted approximately 1,307 individuals who otherwise would likely suffer from hunger.
The drive was so successful, not only because of Second Harvest Food Bank, the Florence Rogers Charitable Trust, and Food Lion, but because of the 108 volunteers from Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church and Second Missionary Baptist Church that came out to show their support.
For more information on how you can help or to host a mobile food pantry, please visit us at hungercantwait.org or call (910) 485-6923.
