HUNGER CAN'T WAIT Pre-screening
Advancement Department
To raise awareness and encourage the community to join us in the fight against hunger, SHFB will be hosting a screening of HUNGER CAN'T WAIT
and A PLACE AT THE TABLE.
The 15 minute HUNGER CAN'T WAIT documentary focuses on community members in our service area who face economic hardships, what SHFB is doing on a daily basis to address hunger, and the vital role SHFB member agencies have in the fight to end hunger.
"A PLACE AT THE TABLE shows us how hunger poses problems for our nation and that it could be solved once and for all by making healthy food available and affordable to us all," says Ron Pringle, Acting Food Bank Director
Seating is limited, so purchase your tickets today. Tickets can be purchased for $25 at hungercantwait.org and at SHFB. Advance tickets are available at the Cameo, purchased with cash and checks only. Based on availability, tickets may be available at the Cameo the night of the showing.
Light hors d' ouevres provided by Mellow Mushroom of Fayetteville. Proceeds from all tickets sales benefit SHFB.

Congratulations to Pine Forest High School JROTC
The Lead2Feed World Hunger Leadership Challenge is a national contest sponsored by USA Today, its subsidiaries, and Yum! Brands. The goal of the challenge is to engage youth and build awareness regarding the issues of world hunger. We are pleased to announce that the Pine Forest High School JROTC students were awarded 3rd place for their student project submission! The 3rd place prize was a $1,000 donation to their hunger-relief charity of choice, Second Harvest Food Bank.
These students lead and challenged their peers to participate in activities that would directly make an impact on hunger in our local communities. The students collected food and money to benefit SHFB. They also volunteered their time and participated in special events. The students chronicled their efforts in a video submission, along with a music video about taking a standing against hunger.

Consider Donating to the Virtual Food Drive
SHFB is grateful for the tremendous support we receive through food donations throughout the year, but we also encourage our friends to consider making credit card contributions online, through our Virtual Food Drive. The Virtual Food Drive can be found at www.ccap-inc.org/foodbank/virtual. It's a great way to see how far your dollars can go to alleviate hunger in our area.
We are able to provide seven meals for every $1 donated, to children, adults and seniors in need. Help us reach our goal of collecting $10,000 through our 2013 Virtual Food Drive campaign. Achieving this goal will allow us to distribute 70,000 additional meals in our community.
To set up a food drive for your business or organization, please contact Patra Roberts at (910) 485-6923, ext. 116 or patra.roberts@ccap-inc.org.
