Declaring the "Good News" of Jesus Christ

HOME SWEET HOME
We started the new year relocating the ministry to Campos do Jordão, Brazil.
Welcome to Campos do Jordao
Located in the Mantiqueira mountains, Campos do Jordão is the city where we are setting up the All Nations ministry office in Brazil. We chose this city because it is where we are hoping to establish the Sozo Mountain Children's home to rescue Brazil's many orphaned children. According to UNICEF 1 in 8 Brazilian children are considered homeless. You can learn more about this project at www.sozomountainbrazil.com

Campos do Jordão is a 2 hour drive from São Paulo and is 2 1/2 hours from the coast. Campos' population is around 50K people and is centered around the tourist industry. Brazilians love to come here for the clean air, pure mountain water, and a safe environment to relax and get away from the city. I can truly see why the LORD has called us to establish Sozo Mountain in this place. It is also the highest elevated city in Brazil. I love what Isaiah 2:1-3 says...

"Now it shall come to pass in the latter days
That the mountain of the Lord's house
Shall be established on the top of the mountains,
And shall be exalted above the hills;
And all nations shall flow to it.
Many people shall come and say,
"Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
He will teach us His ways,
And we shall walk in His paths..."

At the entrance of the city, this sign is so fitting...

Translation: Jesus Christ is Lord of Campos do Jordão

Heading Out
CHURCH OF THE HARVEST
Sunday January 17th, 2016 - Olathe, KS

We had the GREAT privilege of being with this amazing church family this past year. In January they honored us as the Missionaries of the Month. What a blessing! On Saturday the 16th and during the two Sunday morning services on the 17th we shared about the mission and vision of the All Nations Ministry in Brazil. Pastors David and Tracy Frech and some of the other ministry staff prayed over our family. What a GREAT way to be sent off!

GracePointe Community Church
Sunday January 24th, 2016 - Lee's Summit, MO

We had the wonderful blessing to preach at both morning services at GracePoint. It was a great time to be at this thriving church. We were blessed, honored and well received. During our time there we shared about Brazil and preached along the lines of Dr. Fel Bagunu's series "Defining Moments."

IT'S JUST AMAZING!
Getting the whole family to Brazil is not an easy task!
The logistics can be quite daunting at times. One thing that has been a constant is the generosity of our supporters. We truly could not have made the move without you! Prayers, words of encouragement and financial support all work together. You have sent us to Brazil with a mission and you sustain us to be here reaching lives for Christ.

 THANK YOU!

Débora's Column
It's been 2 weeks already since Gigi, Sophia and I left KC and headed to Brazil. Wow, what a time it has been! We came to a new city where we really don't know anyone, with our suitcases and kitties in tow (btw, the cats traveled like champs) and I was a little apprehensive, especially since Mike wasn't with us, praying that the house we rented online was legit. Well, it was! One of my aunts drove up here with us and stayed the first night just to make sure we were settled in without issues, and then for a few days it was just the 3 of us girls. It is such a different feeling to leave the familiarity and day-to-day life of having so many friends and family around in KC, to being just us here. We made the best of it, venturing out a little and trying to get some rest and recoup, especially since I've been a little under the weather since Thanksgiving.  We even found a great café/restaurant that has its own pesticide free greenhouse and serves the most delicious dishes. We're actually here today doing our work. They are the closest thing to an American style coffee shop that we could find, and so I'm sure the girls will be spending time here doing their online school. I finally have a working washing machine, the internet is up and running again (off and on but at least we are connected) and pest control had to come out to take care of a 'little' spider issue we've had. There's always something going on, but I'm excited to be here and to get things going again. Mike got here a few days after us, and as soon as we get our housing situation figured out we'll be starting the next phase of paperwork for SOZO. Last weekend was Carnival time in Brazil, so it was crazy busy here and the whole country practically shuts down and nothing opens or functions normally till the following Wednesday. Things take a little longer to get done here (and that drives a certain American guy crazy), but it is what it is and God will work it all out. We just need lots of prayer, patience and determination. We'll do our best to keep you guys updated on everything. For now we are working on getting settled so that we can hit the ground running soon.
Much love to you all, Débora
