Declaring the "Good News" of Jesus Christ
"SOULS ARE COMING TO JESUS AND LIVES ARE BEING TRANSFORMED"
A MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH...

Saturday Morning January 18th: Pastor's Breakfast

There is a scripture that says God will open a door that no man can shut.  Well, this is such a door.  Through a series of divine appointments we me pastor Carlos and God gave Debora and I favor.  As president of the Rio Claro Pastor's council, he asked us to speak  at the Monthly Pastor's Breakfast.  IT WAS A HOME RUN!  What a wonderful opportunity to be before these men and women of God all in one place.  Suddenly, we went from not knowing very many leaders of the church community to being known by many of them.  After the  breakfast their was a line to talk with Debora.
I had told the LORD that I'm not here in a "salesman" capacity to knock on the door of every church, as a complete stranger, and try to convince them of our purposes here.  God has honored that because we have not had to knock on the door of ONE CHURCH, but all our connections have been soveirgn and doors God alone has opened.
After the Pastor's Breakfast, the President (pastor Carlos) informed us that all of the pastors are in unity and want us to have a CRUSADE in the STADIUM in RIO CLARO.  We will begin meeting weekly with the 10 member board of directors to begin the journey of preparing for this. AMEN!  This is a MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH. After being in Brazil for 3 1/2 months, the door has been swung wide open!
Ministry News

Saturday Night January 11th: Young Adult Service:
2 Salvations

We ministered at a young adult meeting on January 11th at a local church.  Out of a group of about 40 people there are TWO great testimonies.

1.  I'M JEWISH:  At the end of the meeting a man approached us and said, "I'm Jewish and I believe Jesus is the Messiah. I don't worship here, but I honestly don't really know why I came here tonight.  I was driving by on my motorcycle and felt the urge to come inside."  He shared about some spiritual visions he was having and that he was seeing things in the demonic realm and that he was scared.  We shared the "Good News" of the Gospel, about the cross, the blood of Jesus and God's plan of salvation.  He prayed to accept Jesus Christ as his personal savior and described the warmth of God that was on him at that moment.  GLORY!  This man is a business owner with offices in L.A., Denver, Rio Claro, Rio De Janeiro, and Sao Paulo, Brazil.  He said, "I don't know any other Jew that beleives in Jesus."  Pray for this man.  We have kept in contact since this night. We're praying that in the midst of his busy life, he will be discipled in his love for Jesus, and find good fellowship among believers in Christ.

2.  CALL GIRL BORN AGAIN:  At the end of the meeting we spoke with a woman who had a similar situation to the man before.  She said, "This is my first time here. I attend another church, but for some reason I came tonight." She began to describe her story. She said, "I was a call girl and I'm now going to church, but I cannot hide from my past.  The men in the church look at me with that look.  When I go home I feel the presence of evil at the moment I begin to put the key in the door.  I'm surrounded and can't get away."  Debora and I shared the "Good News" of Jesus Christ and the FREEDOM we have in salvation and that the blood of Jesus covers us, giving us forgiveness from our past and protection for each day.   She said she had never prayed to receive Jesus Christ as her savior.  We prayed with her and her face revealed the joyful countenance that took over.  She will need continued support and prayer, so please pray for this woman.  Jesus knows her name.

Sunday Night January 12th:
Essência da Adoração Nazarene Church
9 Salvations

THE RIVER OF GOD WAS FLOWING:

We were invited back to this church to preach a sunday night service  concluding the church's week of fasting and prayer. We preached on the "THE MYSTERY OF HEAVEN REVEALED: THE CROSS." The night was packed with so many amazing things that the LORD did. There are a lot of good pictures that show just a small taste of that night's service... here are some of the testimonies we would like to share with you.

1. First off we had 8 SALVATIONS PLUS ONE MORE. What does that mean?  New names written in the Lamb's Book of Life. The Holy Spirit was working so marvelously during the meeting. The heavens were opened and God came to this family church. Even at the end of the meeting after the place was mostly emptied, there was a 17 year old boy (Pedro) praying bent over with his face in his hands. We approached him and asked what was wrong. He said, "Nothing, because I just now prayed and asked Jesus to come into my heart." I can't begin to describe the serenity of that moment. He did not come to the front to pray and receive Christ, the Holy Spirit met him right where he was at. We have developed a relationship with Pedro since this night and God is doing wonderful things in his heart and in his life. He has such a burden to see his mother come to know the Lord.

2. We prayed for a young man and later on in the evening he came back and said he was hearing heavenly worship in his ear. How cool?! What a privilege to hear literal songs from the Heavenly Realms of Glory.

3. Before the preaching of the Word, we prayed for all of the kids and youth ages   5 through 19. The Fire of God hit ALL of them. It was beautiful to see the Lord touching this generation for His Glory.Click here for pictures .

4. PROPHETIC WORD: After the service the pastor shared with Debora a word that was given at that place over 8 years ago. Prior to the Nazarene church owning the property the pastor was a member of a Baptist church that was located at the same location. At that time a word was given that the place was to be a spiritual river in which people would come and find healing from the leaves of the trees planted on the bank. Long story short, the Baptist church left that location and in September/October of 2013 Pastor Marcio took over the property (which had been empty and vacant for the past 8 years) for their Nazarene Church. During the service we spoke the EXACT SAME WORD. The pastor was so happy, because before this service it was a a prophetic word that seemed to be stuck in the past, but this night it had come back as a PROMISE. The spirit of renewal and revival was certainly prevelent in the meeting.

Friday January 17th: Rehab Center Ministry:
15 MEN SAVED

We were invited to a rehab center for recovering alcoholics and drug dealers. About 45 men were present at the 8 a.m. service that we preached at. 15 MEN CAME FORWARD TO RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST! These are men who had never previously accepted the Lord as their Savior. Can you imagine? Praise God! As well, we prayed for 3 that wanted to go into full time ministry. THAT'S GLORIOUS!

We prayed for healing and the Lord healed about a dozen of the men, here are a few of those testimonies:

1.  One man had a stroke and his left arm was numb and not working. He was healed and his arm was fully liberated. He was so amazed at what Jesus did.
2.  One man was having the shakes and suffering from withdraws. He said that immediately after we laid hands on him to pray it went completely away.
3.  Another man had spinal pain all down his back, legs, and neck. He too was instantly healed.
4.  We prayed for one man's rotator in his shoulder, because he could not raise his arm. God healed him right here and then he made an astounding discovery. He had a lump in the side of his neck that he was taking medication for and the doctors said there was nothing they could do about it. He said, "IT'S GONE!" "What?" We asked. "The lump, it's completely gone!" He said.  Can you imagine? We didn't even pray for that. How Wonderful!

We preached on the reality of Heaven and the spiritual life beyond what our eyes see and the influences of our choices. How the LORD validated the reality of His Presence and Word. The men were so happy. This was truly one of the places we have preached the Word that has been an utmost priviledge for us. We thank the LORD for the opportunity to speak into these men's lives.
Sunday Night January 26th:
Igreja Batista Nacional
4 Salvations!

The Baptist church, that runs the rehab facility, heard from the director of the facility about what had taken place during that Friday's morning service. He gave us an invitation to come and preach at the church. There were 4 SALVATIONS and 7 people who re-dedicated their lives to Jesus Christ. Oh, Praise Jesus! This was a simple church of about 45 people in all. The service started out very traditional. When the preaching started it was a little tough to break through, but eventually, God did. The hearts of the people opened up to the Gospel and received blessings from the Lord. Oh, Praise Jesus! There are new names written down in Glory!

There were several healings, here are a few of the testimonies:

1. One young man had a bandage on his wrist from a damaged nerve. He said it had been 5 months since he could use his hand.  At the time of prayer he could not move or work with his fingers. God touched him! He took off the bandage and he was amazed to see 100% restoration of his wrist.

2.  One man came forward
with knee and back pain. We found out his right leg was 1 inch shorter than his left. We asked if there was a doctor in the service to come and witness the result of the prayer. There was no doctor, but a podiatrist was present and she came and examined him before prayer. Yup, a full 1" she verified. We prayed and that leg grew out before her eyes. The man stood and his knee and back pain were gone too. The people were so amazed at what the LORD did for this man. Amen!

3.  A teenager came forward with sinus issues. He was in pain at the moment and had been suffering for most of his life with this. A simple prayer was prayed and BAM! He was touched by the Lord and all was clear and no pain!

March at a glance...

City Wide "40 Days of Prayer for the City" Planning: We are working on publishing a 40 days of prayer booklet for all of the churches in Rio Claro to use and participate in We are asking 120 local pastors to contribute to the book. PLEASE PRAY THIS WILL BE A TOOL THAT WILL BE USED NOT ONLY TO BRING FREEDOM FOR THE CITY THROUGH PRAYER, BUT UNITY OF THE CHURCHES THROUGH PRAYER.

Along this line, we need to find a facility to host the participating churches. We will be planning a night of worship for all of the churches to gather together to conclude the "40 Days of Prayer for the City."

Weekly Meetings with the Pastors Council:  We have formally begun working weekly with the pastor's council to prepare the groundwork for a CITY WIDE CRUSADE. Please pray for the widening of the net and for 100 churches to participate.

Carnival Retreat:  We will be starting out the month of March spending 5 days with a church of about 250 members at a retreat facility. We have been asked to lead the church retreat. It is common in Brazil during the week of Carnival for churches to host get-a-way retreat for their members.

Preaching:  We will have a full months preaching schedule already ahead of us. We have been experiencing revival meetings in the churches we go. God is breathing a fresh wind of fire upon the pastors and church body. Amen!

Website: We are needing to revamp our web presence to accomodate Portuguese. This will be quite an undertaking and will take several months.

A Personal Note...

Dear friends,

What a month we've had!
Bella turned 18 on the 4th!!! I still can't quite grasp the thought of having an 18 year old daughter, but I'll get there someday. I feel so proud and so honored to be her mom! She is an amazingly vital part of our ministry here! We were both not feeling well, but the day before her b-day we went to a waterfall and saw some really beautiful sights and on the day we had a great lunch and were treated to a cheese, yes a cheese dinner at a friend's home.
We also got to spend a couple of days at the beach and a couple more days in Sao Paulo (my hometown). The girls love it there!

It is still very, very hot here (hottest summer in the past 40 years), but we are making the best of each day, drinking tons of water, and staying close to the fans. We also started writing down all of our funny experiences, sayings, mishaps, etc... and putting them into a glass jar. We plan on reading them on January first to have a few good laughs and reminisce. There are so many so far! The other day we were spending some time at a friend's beach condo and we were exhausted from being in the sun. Mike decided that he wanted ice-cream and none of us wanted to go with him. He said "Well, no problem. I'll just go to McDonalds and ask the girl for a "cosquinha"! Well, I said, You're going to go up there and ask someone to give you a "little tickle?". Needless to say, we laughed our heads off, and added another memory to the jar!

So many opened doors have been placed before us... God is moving at an accelerated pace. We could not have made the connections and met the people that have come our way on our own! IT IS ALL GOD!  We are seeing many miracles, people being set free, and lives being changed by His amazing love and His power! It is such an honor and is so humbling to be a part of the plans that our God has for this area right now.

I cannot possibly thank each of you enough for praying for us and for your support. We could not be here and do this without your help and especially without your prayers! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

You are so very loved and missed... Please keep in touch!

Debora's family has a condo near the beach (about 4 hours away) and they let us enjoy the place for a couple days of R & R. We had GREAT family time that we appreciated so much.

Why do we track the decisions for Christ?

We are not preachers of Sermons, but preachers of the "Good News." God has placed us in fertile ground and we think it is important to know the results of the HARVEST.  Not only for the local church but for our partners that support EvangelismBrazil.

HOW DO WE DEFINE...

1)  SALVATION:
The Bible is clear that Jesus is the only way to eternal life.  We define a salvation as a person who has NEVER before accepted Jesus Christ into their heart and made a commitment to serve Him.  By definition, they are coming to the LORD for the very FIRST time.

2) REDEDICATION:
This is not a "Salvation" but someone who is already a Christian and at some point in there life gave their lives to Christ. But during the course of life's circumstances they have grown cold in their faith and have lost their passion and "first love" zeal for Christ.  A rededication is when a fresh commitment to Christ is made.  The person is not bound by the lies of regret, wrong decisions and the sense of hopelessness, but is renewed in their faith and relationship with Christ.  The "fire" is ignited!  and in  CHRIST we can start FRESH again! For there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
