Chocolate Milk Post- Workout? NO! I haven't seen any evidence suggesting that adults who work out regularly but who aren't endurance athletes would be better off drinking chocolate milk after exercise. If you did, you might end up taking in as many calories as you just burned.   See the main feature below and This Week's Blog that some local coaches are actually recommending to your kids! Plus get the skinny on all the dangers of sugar - an epidemic in our country, make healthy choices for trick or treaters and kick the additiction at home!  Also learn why the new Fairlife Milk is NOT so fair -- did you know it is a joint venture with Coca Cola.

Start Your Morning with a Back-Relief Flow.  Five poses that can really help for a daily practice. Plus -- meet me on the mat to learn these first hand!
With 80 percent of all Americans suffering from back pain, yoga has become more and more popular as a preventative and corrective health method.  I've found that these simple poses, if done daily can systematically stretch each muscle in the back, with the exception of a few arm and shoulder muscles. These postures may be done seated or more restoratively by using blocks and bolsters as you will learn in yoga classes with me this week. Want to learn the postures and their benefits?  Click here to keep reading!

Warm Your Heart and Mind with a Candle Meditation
Speaking of yoga, join me this week to also learn a candle meditation! This form of meditation is excellent to train the physical eyes and thus improve your "mind's eye."  This allows you to practice meditation via the use of imagery.  In yoga, this meditation is called trataka.   According to yoga literature, trataka strengthens the inner vision and sometimes even induces clairvoyance, the ability to perceive things not in the physical realm.  Through the ages, monks and spiritual sages have worked with the dawning sun this way.  I hope you enjoy this script and invite you tojoin me for yoga this week to experience this first hand.  Get the script here!

THIS WEEK'S FEATURE!  - Skip Chocolate Milk as Post Workout Recovery and Know The Many Dangers of Sugar
Recently, I had a male adult client state that he was drinking chocolate milk as a recovery drink based on what he had read in his son's sports materials as a good idea. I was appalled but unfortunately not surprised. This came after a weigh in that was not in line with his positive workout efforts. Based on that for a recovery drink, I was also not surprised with the weigh in either.  Since it's not the first time I've heard from clients that they thought chocolate milk was now a great recovery drink, it's obviously time for me to shed some light on the error of it and why.  I hope you take the time to read this important article for you and your families' health and not be prey to the marketing by the dairy industry and other lobbyists.

So here's  the real "skinny' on that and more on the absolute dangers of sugar and be smart about your Trick or Treat plans this year.
