SENIORS NIGHT ON FRIDAY AT MERCER

When the Hyacks take on South Delta at Mercer stadium this Friday, the program will continue its tradition of recognizing our graduating seniors. Included in the list of 19 seniors are ten players who have been with the Hyacks since Jr Bantam including: Jeff Lugtu, Declan Baker, Shawn Dhanoa, Gurvir Ghuman, Jake O'Connor, David Penalver, Sabastian Ramirez, Sunny Rishi, Jamie Shiho and Marcel Wang. Other names like Dillon Cusker and Rochon Bhattacharya, joined the program in JV. This group of young men has grown together, worked extremely hard, and has helped to build the winning tradition of Hyack Football.

The players and the parent/guardians who have supported them, not just as football players but as students and young men for the past 17 years will also be recognized prior to the game, in what has become a very special tradition in the Hyacks program. Thanks to all of them for their contributions. Parents of the seniors are asked to arrive by 7:15 pm and check in at the Hyack Football tent near the players bench.

This Friday's game will decide 3rd place in the AAA Western Conference, and the teams will also play for the coveted Kushnir Boot, in honor of the late Bill Kushnir, the man who started both the New West and South Delta programs.

Last Friday in the Hyacks 55-44 win over Notre Dame, New West put up 487 yards of offense, including 370 along the ground. Trew Dancey scored 3 TDs while Gurvir Ghuman and Nick Hauka added 2 apiece. Dancey also added a pair of sacks, with Jeff Lugtu and David Penalver recording 8 tackles each. Ghuman was named player of the game while Sarban Sidhu earned top lineman honors. A complete recap of Friday's game can be found here

JVs WIN 2nd STRAIGHT DIVISION TITLE

The JV's continued their unbeaten season against BC competition with a 42-21 win over Notre Dame on Thursday. Broxx Comia and Sammy Sidhu scored a pair of rushing TDs, while Kinsale Philip ran for a score and also passed for one to Shane Belsher. Defensively Severio Asaba and Arjun Bal each had an interception and some key open field tackles, while the defensive line played much better across the board, led by Paul Roadilla (1 sack) and Anthony Dillman.

With the win the JV Hyacks lock up the AAA Western Division title for the 2nd straight season with a 4-0 record (8-0 overall) and will have a first round playoff bye. They'll play an exhibition game at Carson Graham this Thursday, Nov 5th at 3:30 pm.

YOUTH FOOTBALL UPDATE
