It was a series of big plays that propelled the Hyacks to a 42-7 win over Belmont on Friday night, in their first conference game of the season. Jamie Shiho found Michael Thind for an 80 yard TD pass that opened the scoring for the Hyacks. On the following series Jordan Guzman took off on a 76 yard run, then Trew Dancey made it 21-7 before the end of the first quarter with a 20 yard run. David Penalver made it 28-7 at halftime with a 56 yard run, while Justin Swartz caught a pair of TD passes in the 3rd quarter to round out the scoring. Swartz also added an interception on defense and was named the player of the game, while Dillon Cusker was the lineman of the game. The win improved the Hyacks record to 3-1 vs BC competition (1-0 in league play) as they hold the #5 spot in the provincial rankings. For a complete recap of Friday's game, check out the Record.

Next up for the Hyacks, the team will travel to Vancouver College to face the 3rd ranked Irish on Saturday, Oct 17th at 1:30 pm. Tickets will cost $5 at the gate.

The JVs set the tone for the day on Friday with a 35-6 win over Belmont, improving their record to 4-0 vs BC competition. Broxx Comia opened the scoring on a 57 yard run. After the Bulldogs tied the game, Shane Belsher returned the kickoff 80 yards for a major. QB Kinsale Philip then found TE Evan Noli in the corner of the endzone to give the Hyacks a 21-6 halftime lead. In the 2nd half, Robertson Yagyog went almost the length of the field on a 95 yard TD run. Garrett Gogal rounded out the scoring by recovering a fumble in the endzone, as he becomes the 2nd Hyack JV lineman to score a TD this season. Finn Stark meanwhile, had a strong game on defense.
The JVs will also travel to Vancouver College, on Thursday, in a key Western Conference matchup for both teams.

The JB's turned in an impressive come from behind win, 48-20 in Victoria. The Hyacks trailed 20-16 at halftime, before pulling together in the second half and outscoring the Renegades 32-0. Kyle Huish scored 3 times, Vishaan Narayan rushed for 2 more TDs and Greyson Planinsic added one TD to his numbers. Max King, Nathan Hull and James Duffy were very good on down field blocks on sweeps as receivers.
