SPRING CAMP WRAP UP
Close to 80 players took part in spring camp and both teams showed significant improvement throughout the sessions.
VARSITY:
The Hyacks look to be a much more balanced team this year than they were in 2014. The running game should be much improved, with Marcel Wang and Jordan Guzman running behind a line that showed toughness and athleticism. Sunny Rishi and Dillon Cusker looked very competitive and Sebastian Ramirez was among the team's most improved players. Jamie Shiho also stood out at quarterback, both running and throwing the football.
Defensively the linebackers and secondary will be the strength of the unit, with Wang, Jeff Lugtu, Gurvir Ghuman and Rochon Bhattacharya among those who stood out in the spring scrimmage in Bellingham. For more details in The Record log on here
JVs: With a large contingent of returning starters from last year's outstanding JV team, expectations are high for this year's squad, and they lived up to that with a dominating performance in the scrimmage against GW Graham. Sammy Sidhu, Shane Belsher, Broxx Comia and Robertson Yagyog were among those who stood out in the game and during the practices beforehand. The linemen, led by Yanni Angelopolus and Isaiah James were very strong, while Anthony Dillman is among the team's most improved players.

OREGON TEAM CAMP
From June 30-July 2 the Hyacks will be back on the Oregon coast for Team Camp. The camp takes place at Camp Rilea Army Reserve Base in Warrenton, OR. Fifty players (Varsity and JV) will take part in practices and scrimmages against American schools. Everyone selected should have received an emailed registration form and checklist of what to bring.
The registration fee for the camp (which includes housing and food during camp) will again be taken care of by our gracious sponsor, Ryan Beedie (thanks Ryan!). Players will however need to pay $70 for transportation (which can be done online) and bring some money for food on the way down and back ($40-50 US).
If they haven't already done so, please make sure the players have their completed registration forms turned in and have proof of citizenship with them when the team leaves. Departure time is 8 am on Tuesday, June 30th from Mercer Stadium. Players should arrive by 7:30 am.
We would encourage all Hyack families to make the trip to the Oregon Coast for a football-style summer vacation! The camp will be held 5 miles south of Astoria, OR. For more information on the area, including accommodations: http://www.astoria-usa.com

Fall camp begins on Sunday, Aug 23rd with speed and fitness testing. The first practice is Aug 24th. Fall camp is mandatory and we expect that all players will be back from vacation and rearrange their work schedules in time to take part. The complete summer schedule can be found here.
Also please note that a portion of fall camp will be held overnight at CFB Chilliwack (Aug 26-28). Players will receive transportation to and from Chilliwack and there will be no extra cost for this. All varsity and JV players will be expected to take part.

ANTI BULLYING DAY...TRAVIS LULAY CAMP...UW 7 ON 7...
It's been a busy off-season for the Hyacks, beyond our speed and strength program. February was highlighted by the NCAA National Letter of Intent Day News Conference, along with our participation in Anti-Bullying day. April included the JP Football Frenzy Camp at Mercer, hosted by BC Lions QB Travis Lulay, and in May, Daniel English became the 5th Hyack alum drafted into the CFL, followed by our participation in the annual Hyack Parade. After spring camp, the Hyacks were in Seattle on Father's Day, taking part in the University of Washington 7 on 7 Passing Tournament, where they got to play IN Husky Stadium! We are always active, making a difference in our community!
