With the season in full swing, the coaching staff is in need of some parental assistance on game nights. The preference is for JV parents to assist with Varsity game nights so that those parents can watch their kids in action on Fridays. If you are interested please contact Jayne ASAP

 HYACKS IMPROVE TO 5-1...VC AWAITS

 

New West scored 4 times in the first half en route to a 27-6 win over West Van on Friday afternoon at Mercer Stadium. Angelo Tanjuaquio opened the scoring on the Hyacks first possession. Tommy Robertson then scored back to back TDs, and also completed his first 5 passes. Julian Ramirez rounded out the scoring for the Hyacks, Tanjuaquio, turned in an outstanding all-around performance, with 85 rushing yards, 7 tackles and 2 interceptions. James Nicolas was named the Prime Time Player of the Game, while Luis Rosas was named the Dairy Queen Lineman of the Game.

 

The win improves the Hyacks record to 5-1 overall (2-1 in conference play).

Next up: a date with Vancouver College on Saturday, Oct 12th at 1:30 pm at O'Hagen Field. The Irish were Subway Bowl finalists in 2012 and are 3-2 so far this season.

 


TAILGATE AUCTION 2 WEEKS AWAY

 

The Hyack Work Party is just one of many fantastic prizes you can win on Saturday, Oct 26th at the tenth annual Hyack Football Tailgate Auction, at La Perla Ballroom (River Market at Westminster Quay).

Tickets are available online at hyackfootball.com. The Tailgate Auction is our major fundraiser of the year and has raised well over $120,000 in support of Hyack Football. This is the perfect time for new parents to get involved in this terrific event.

These cost just $20 and are good for appetizers and deserts at River Market at New Westminster Quay restaurants. YOUTH FOOTBALL UPDATE

 

The Hyack Jr Bantam Orange squad remained undefeated with a 36-0 win over Cloverdale at Mercer Stadium. Sammy Sidhu was dominant on both sides of the ball, scoring a pair of touchdowns and also had numerous tackles for loss on defense. Daniel Dirta also scored three TDs while Lucas Sabau had a strong offensive game running (1 TD) and blocking.

 

The JB Black team was also victorious, 21-18, over the GSL Vikings. Tresor "Ice" Kimwemwe, BJ "Smooth" Clarke and Jerrell "J-Man" Cummings all scored touchdowns, while the linemen did a great job on both sides of the ball.

 

 

Both Pee Wee teams showed great effort on Sunday at Mercer, but lost their respective games. Above are members of the Orange defensive line getting ready to line up against White Rock South Surrey.  Up front are Alexander D'Arge, Eric Birzneck, Sean Crowley, Max King and Pavan Kainth, along with safety, Aidan Sattler (#3).
