The Portico Congregation Commissioned Sunday

Commissioning was held during all worship services Sunday for the 90 members who have committed to worship and serve at The Portico campus downtown this fall, reaching out to make God's love real to downtown residents and workers. Preachers likened these mission-minded members to historical "Circuit Riders" of the Methodist church. United Methodists Provide Flood Relief in Louisiana

Flooding in Louisiana has impacted at least 40,000 homes, about 30,000 people and 1,000 pets have been rescued from high water in homes and cars. At least 11 people are known to have died in the disaster. The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is providing assistance to affected families. Florida Photo Note Cards at the Bookstore

The Aldersgate Corner Bookstore and Coffee Shop in Knox Hall has Note Cards, with original photographs by Pat Kelly, offering comfort, encouragement and inspiration. The cards are blank inside for your own messages to family, friends and small group members. All sales support missions.
CareNotes: Providing Hope, Help and Healing

CareNotes are small, easy to read, knowledgeable booklets that address both everyday problems and challenging topics. They provide guidance for praying, personal healing and bereavement. They are in the Knox Hall lobby and outside the bookstore. The notes are free, but if you wish to make a donation, boxes are available on the displays. Learn more.

"Shattered Silence" Doc Night at The Portico Aug. 25

Join us 6:30 p.m. Aug. 25 in The Portico Chapel for a screening of the WEDU production, "Shattered Silence." The film is a recording of the live action "Shattered Silence Project," which tells the stories and struggles of 46 teenagers in the Tampa Bay area. Learn more.

Re-Purpose Reusable Food Containers

Each Sunday, we feed breakfast to over 200 individuals in need with our Open Arms Homeless Ministry and leftovers are distributed using reusable food containers. You can support this ministry by donating any clean, dry reusable food container with a lid. Drop them off Sundays in the Harnish Activities Center or anytime during regular office hours to the collection bin in the Ministry Offices lobby. Contact Jill Krantz for more information.
