Hyde Park Parents,

Wow! It's hard to believe the summer has raced by and it's the first week in August! It's not only the start of a new school year, it's also a new 'year' in Children's Ministries. Please know we are praying for you and your family as you plow through this hectic and bittersweet time - wanting to soak up the last bit of summer, while also getting ready for the new school year and all that goes with it!  

We hope to see you at Move Up Sunday on August 14 and our annual training on August 17. Details below. The Children's Ministries team is looking forward to another amazing year with you and having the privilege of serving your children!

In the month of July, our nursery and preschool children are learned that God made everything. Help teach your children how God rested by using this week's parent cue - Click here.

This Sunday's Lesson - Aug. 7
Preschool students will hear about how God tells Abraham about His plan for him because He loves him. Bottom Line: God loves me.

Elementary Students will begin a new unit on obedience.   In Genesis 3:1-24 they will learn how Adam and Eve decided that they would rather make up their own rules than follow the ones God made for them. The consequences they faced changed history. Bottom Line: I should trust and obey even when I think my way is better.

  • August 14: Move-Up Sunday (when children move up to their new school grade in Sunday Morning Live and kick off the new 'year' in Children's Ministries.)
  • August 17: Training for all Sunday Children's Ministries volunteers. RSVP and request childcare here.
  • August 17: Celebration Choir (Grades 1-5) rehearsals begin, 5:45 p.m.
  • August 21: Angel choir (4 year old and Kindergarten) rehearsals begin, 10:25 a.m. (includes parent meeting.)
  • August 24: Handbell (Grades 4 and up) rehearsals begin, 5:15 p.m.
  • August 24: Parent meeting for Celebration and Handbell Choir, 5:45 p.m.
  • August 31: Training for all Wednesday evening Children's Ministries volunteers.
