Welcome Our Summer Intern
Andrew Puckett just finished his freshmen year of college at the University of South Florida majoring in Business. Andrew was an active part of Merge Youth Ministries while he attended high school at Plant.

"I always saw the interns coming in during the summer and leaving with a better feel for how the ministry works. I'm really looking forward to having these experiences and having a good summer. I have a pretty close relationship with some of our students and I'm looking forward to meeting more of them."

He will be with us through August 11 and will help plan and lead all of our summer programming. Andrew will be attending Warren Willis Summer Camp as adult counselor with Hyde Park and attend our High School Mission Trip to Gulf Coast, Mississippi.
Making God's Love Real
Mother's Day. It can be a stressful day, or a happy day. It should be the latter, but usually is the former. On Mother's Day, I see God in my mother, because after all, she contributed to the gift of life.I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Youth Sunday, May 22
We need youth to help as ushers, greeters, tech support, and speaking in worship. We are looking for students who are not already involved in Youth Praise Team, giving messages, or  the skit to help in these areas. If your student is able to help us in any of the services please contact Emily.

Warren Willis Sumer Camp,
June 20-25, 2016
Hyde Park is going to camp during week #2. Church camp is for grades 4-12. Camp costs $420 this year. You can register and put a deposit down online at the Warren Willis website. If you would like to ride the church bus, contact Kathy. Seats are limited and are first come, first served. If you are in need of a scholarship, contact Emily.
VBS June 27-July 1
Save the date for Cave Quest Vacation Bible School at Hyde Park United Methodist. VBS will be held June 27-July 1. Want to serve on the Cave Quest exploration team? Adults sign-up here and youth sign-up here. Help us inspire kids to follow Jesus, the light of the world!

Sunday Morning
We believe that the best way to create "sticky faith" is by having youth involved in congregational worship and serving in church. We encourage both of these for our students. If not attending worship, students can serve in various ways during the hour they are on campus. If you would like to get your student plugged into serving around campus with Children's Ministries, Open Arms, the Tech Team, ushering or greeting, please contact Emily.
Merge - Small Group Fun Night
Each group will be doing their own activity.

Middle School Boys (grades 6-8), 5-8 p.m.: Off campus basketball (3 on 3), ping pong, swimming, food and games. Host home: Eric Adams, 4710 W. Melrose Avenue, (813) 289-7887 (home); (813) 505-5575 (text); Bring a bathing suit and towel, closed toed shoes. X-Box and board/card games also available. Menu: pizza, snacks and drinks (like soda, water and Gatorade).  Please RSVP to Eric and bring $5 or $10 to contribute to food costs.

6th Grade Girls: Movie night at Westshore Mall. Movies & times have not come out yet so please watch email and remind text for specific details. We plan to meet at the mall beforehand in the food court to have dinner together before the movie.
