Graduates - Info Due This Week!
We will be honoring our high school graduates at our May 22 Youth Sunday Service at the 9:30 a.m. Sanctuary Service. This is what we need from our graduates by May 1: 
  • Baby and graduation photos scanned and emailed
  • Answer the following questions:
    • Name and school graduating from
    • College you'll be attending and major
    • Favorite memory here at Hyde Park
    • How we can be praying for you as you go off to college

Youth Sunday, May 22 
 We need youth to help as ushers, greeters, tech support, and speaking in worship. We are looking for students who are not already involved in Youth Praise Team, giving messages, or  the skit to help in these areas. If your student is able to help us in any of the services please contact Emily.
Warren Willis Sumer Camp,
June 20-25, 2016
Hyde Park is going to camp during week #2. Church camp is for grades 4-12. Camp costs $420 this year. You can register and put a deposit down online at the Warren Willis website. If you would like to ride the church bus, contact Kathy. Seats are limited and are first come, first served. If you are in need of a scholarship, contact Emily.
VBS June 27-July 1
Save the date for Cave Quest Vacation Bible School at Hyde Park United Methodist. VBS will be held June 27-July 1. Want to serve on the Cave Quest exploration team? Adults sign-up here and youth sign-up here. Help us inspire kids to follow Jesus, the light of the world!

Sunday Morning
We believe that the best way to create "sticky faith" is by having youth involved in congregational worship and serving in church. We encourage both of these for our students. If not attending worship, students can serve in various ways during the hour they are on campus. If you would like to get your student plugged into serving around campus with Children's Ministries, Open Arms, the Tech Team, ushering or greeting, please contact Emily.
Merge, 5:30-8 p.m.
Revenge is sweet, isn't it? Few things feel better than destroying the team who beat you last year or getting back at someone who treated you badly. Maybe you know you're not supposed to enjoy it. Maybe you've heard you're supposed to forgive and forget, but there is just something in all of us that loves to pay others back. Of course, the sweetness of the moment doesn't last long. We know that if we pay someone back, they will want to do the same to us. That's the thing about revenge, it doesn't put an end to the situation-it escalates it. But what other options do you have? If you've been hurt or attacked or humiliated, you can't just stand by and do nothing. Once again, Jesus uses the art of storytelling to address this very idea. As he introduces us to two guys, both with a debt to pay, we find that forgiveness isn't about doing nothing. It's about using your time and energy to do the only thing that can make the situation better. Remember to invite your friends and you both get a free gift! Dinner $5.
