Today is Maundy Thursday--the day on which Jesus celebrated the Passover meal with his disciples the night before he was crucified. Two important things happened on Maundy Thursday. Before the Passover meal, Jesus washed the disciples' feet as an act of humility and service. This act gives Christians a tangible example of how we can love and serve each other with humility. Then, Jesus celebrated the Last Supper, which initiated the sacrament of Communion. What does "maundy" mean? It's derived from the Latin word mandatum, meaning "commandment." This refers to Jesus' commands to both love one another through humble service and to remember his sacrifice when we celebrate Communion. Today would be a great day to practice "invitational evangelism" by inviting someone to join you for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday or Easter services at Hyde Park. Easter Sunday Programming Changes

Nursery care will be available for the 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 11 a.m. Easter services. Children's Ministries will hold regular Sunday Morning Live for 3-4-K and 1st-5th grade children at the 9:30 hour on Easter Sunday. During the 11 a.m. hour there will be no Sunday Morning Live. Children are encouraged to worship with their families at the Family Easter Service in the Activities Center, the Traditional service in the Sanctuary, or at 11 Magnolia. There will be Nursery care for children ages 4 and younger on the first floor of the Wesley Center at 11 a.m.

Children's Ministries Volunteer Appreciation

The Children's Ministries staff will host a volunteer appreciation brunch on Sunday, April 19 in Wesley Center Room 303. Volunteers and their families are invited to drop in for coffee, juice and breakfast foods any time from 9 a.m. - noon. If you aren't able to regularly volunteer in Children's Ministries, your family can help honor our wonderful volunteers by donating breakfast foods, paper goods or beverages for the event. Contact Kathy DiRaimo to sign up and don't forget to say thanks to your children's volunteer leaders!

Family Easter Celebration-THANKS!

Thank you to all the volunteers, staff, and church members who came together to make the Family Easter Celebration on Saturday so special. We thank God for you!

Vacation Bible School, June 22-26

Be sure to save the week of June 22 for Vacation Bible School at Hyde Park! Kids will learn about conquering challenges with God's mighty power. Registration will open April 6. Dad & Me Weekend, Apr. 10-12

Dad and Me Weekend at the Life Enrichment Center is April 10-12. Dad and Me Weekend is a chance to focus on 'passing the torch' of faith on to the next generation. Click here for more information.

Summer Camp Registration Open!
