 EmilyEMILY'S MESSAGE
How are you? That question seems like an odd way to start this email but I really want to know.
I want to know how you are feeling about parenting? Are you frustrated or scared or uncertain because parenting a teenager is just about the hardest thing you have ever done? I would imagine many of you are nodding your head about now. And do you know what our default is set to when we get frustrated or scared? We draw back or isolate when what we really need to do is reach out to another person for encouragement. Click here for more.

Walking with you,

Need service hours? A Hyde Park member has a retail store on MacDill just south of Bay-to-Bay and a website with ecommerce. LivAfrika is a way to raise money for one of our mission partners, Phakamisa, in Durban, South Africa. If you are interested in working, or to get more info, contact Sita.
DID YOU KNOW?
Statistics show us that 60-80% of the people who have a Christian Conversion experience have it during Adolescence. This raises a troubling question for me: what are the rest of the Adolescents being Converted to? Money? Fame? Popularity? Consumerism? Some religious system not based on God's Love? Apathy? Success?

A Sustainable Youth Ministry models a Wesleyan Evangelism that reaches out and welcomes, invites and nurtures, and speak always to BOTH head and to heart. It does this in ALL that is done. All things are done in the name of Jesus. This means even the "fun stuff" has an evangelistic component, yet the goal and practice is never manipulation. We love Youth because God loves Youth. God does the work through the Holy Spirit freeing us to be both fun when we need to be and serious when we need to be.

Lenten High School Home Groups
High school students meet 6-8 p.m. for dinner and in depth Bible study at Natalie Peric's home (3908 W. Santiago St. Tampa, FL 33629). Invite a friend and bring your Bibles. See you then!

Middle School Wednesday Night Bible Study, 6:30 p.m.
We are aligning our study with the current Lenten series. We will do an indicative bible study (which means really studying each word and phrase of our Scripture passage) each week. We will look at Christ's journey during the Lenten period and see how we can align our walk with His. Join us this Wednesday from 6:30-8 p.m.

Merge, Sunday 5:30-8 p.m.
Senior Pastor, Roger Scholtz will speak at Merge this Sunday. We will learn about a fake bunny, uncomfortable clothes, and searching for hidden eggs filled with melted chocolate. If you grew up confused about Easter, you're probably not alone. Maybe you grew up in church and you know it has to do with Jesus, but what exactly are we celebrating? Here's a hint: It's not the death of Jesus. Yes, Jesus did die for our sins, but then real people, eye witnesses saw him alive. He had told them he would rise from the dead, but no one really expected Him to do it! The resurrection not only proved that Jesus was who he claimed to be, but it separates Christianity from every other religious tradition. We do not celebrate someone who is dead but rathe that he is alive and because of that, our ability to trust Him. Join us for dinner ($5 in the HAC) at 5:15 p.m. before programming. Bring a friend with you and you both get a gift.

Confirmation, Sunday, 6-8 p.m.
No Confirmation due to Palm Sunday & Easter next week! We will see everyone April 12 for Pastor's question and run through night.

null First Priority is a Christian Club that meets at almost all of our Tampa Bay schools. It is a Bible study where we talk about Scripture, pray for our schools, teachers and friends. These clubs are student led but have Youth Pastors from all over the Tampa Bay Area helping lead them. Find your school here.

Are you interested in a Cuban worship experience? This summer you could have the opportunity to build relationships and spend time with other youth in worship at a sister church and camp activities in Cuba. Click here to learn more.
