Meet Our Summer Interns:

Peter - I grew up in Fort Myers, Florida where I moved when I was 6 years old; having lived in Greenville, South Carolina and Washington D.C. previously. I studied in the IB program at Riverdale High School along with being on the Wrestling and Swimming teams. I am currently going into my senior year in the Religious Studies program at Stetson University in Deland, Florida and I am a member of the Competitive Ultimate Frisbee Club. I love camping, cycling, and the outdoors in general. I look forward to serving in the Hyde Park Community!

Katie - My name is Katie McCormick and I am so humbled and thrilled to have been given the opportunity to serve as one of Merge's interns this summer! I look back on my time spent in the youth program with lots of meaningful and exciting memories. The Hyde Park community has given me so much and I am looking forward to giving back to a program that is so important to me. I am currently a junior at Florida Southern College studying Interpersonal Communications and Advertising and Public Relations. I can't wait for this amazing summer!
VOLUNTEER NEEDS
Would you be willing to invest one hour of your time to help make a difference for your student? Learn more below:

Merge Dinner Pick-Up
Pick up the pre-ordered/pre-paid dinner, deliver to the church and collect $5 from kids choosing to eat that night. You will receive an email mid-week with the details of the order and you can choose the week that fits your schedule. Click here to sign-up.

Merge Sign-In
We start at 5 p.m. and help students get signed-in or greet new students and help them feel welcome. Pick your Sunday here.

Need service hours? A Hyde Park member has a retail store on MacDill just south of Bay-to-Bay and a website with ecommerce. LivAfrika is a way to raise money for one of our mission partners, Phakamisa, in Durban South Africa. If you are interested in working, or to get more info, contact Sita.
DID YOU KNOW?
Fifty is the general ceiling of teenagers that a paid staff person can keep up with on an effective basis. Do you see business managers who manage 50 people on their own? No. Businesses know it's a stretch and ineffective so they'll throw structures/positions in place to help. Youth ministries are generally without that. However, our youth program has not only upheld this rule but exceeds it. We have enough paid staff members for a weekly average of 125 students. Our youth staff consists of Emily and Dave (both full time), and Kathy (part-time). We currently average 80-100 students a week. Our church has enough value in youth ministry to be staffed for our goal of 125 students weekly.

Lenten High School Home Group, Tuesday (3/10)
Middle School Wednesday (3/11) Night Bible Study, 6:30 p.m.

Merge, Sunday 5:30-8 p.m.
Everybody has doubts. Your pastor. Your small group leader. Your friends. At some point we all have questions about faith. And if we're honest, most of us have tried to ignore them, hide them, or just hope they go away. But what if doubt isn't such a bad thing? What if our doubt doesn't make our faith go away, but instead makes it stronger than before? Face-to-face with Jesus, one man was brave enough to admit that he had faith and doubt at the same time. In his story, we find that owning our doubt can lead to growing our faith. Join us for dinner ($5 in the HAC) at 5:15 p.m. before programming. Bring a friend with you and you both get a gift.

Confirmation, Sunday, 6-8 p.m.
This week we will talk about "Renounce, Accept, Confess." We will gather together in the Harnish Activities Center at 5:15 p.m. for a $5 dinner. Classes begin at 6 p.m. on the 3rd floor of the Wesley Building.

null First Priority is a Christian Club that meets at almost all of our Tampa Bay schools. It is a Bible study where we talk about Scripture, pray for our schools, teachers and friends. These clubs are student led but have Youth Pastors from all over the Tampa Bay Area helping lead them. Find your school here.

Are you interested in a Cuban worship experience? This summer you could have the opportunity to build relationships and spend time with other youth in worship at a sister church and camp activities. Click here to learn more.
