Yesterday (Ash Wednesday) we officially began the season of Lent, the 40 days (excluding Sundays), during which we wait and prepare for Jesus' resurrection on Easter Sunday. It is a time for us to focus on our relationship with God through prayer, repentance, and other spiritual disciplines. Many Christians choose to give up something or to give of themselves by serving others during Lent. Talk with your family about what Lent means to you and what traditions you might observe as a family during these 40 days. Sacraments Workshop
Thanks to the families and pastors who participated in last Sunday's Sacraments Workshop. We learned a lot!



  Family Fun Night Friday!
Grab your pillow, blanket and favorite stuffed animal and join us for Family Fun Night "Movie Night" 6-8 p.m. tomorrow in the Harnish Activities Center. Enjoy dinner, a photo and craft, concession stand treats, and a screening of the first "Despicable Me" all for a suggested donation of just $5/family. Plan to join us and invite a friend!

Elementary Sunday Morning Live during Lent
During the season of Lent, Elementary Sunday Morning Live will be aligning our weekly Bible story and memory verse with what the rest of the congregation will be exploring in Sunday worship services. This will give your family a wonderful opportunity to discuss each week's Scripture and the season's memory verse together. Whether you talk during meal times, as you drive in the car, or before bedtime, don't miss this chance to explore the Lenten Scriptures together. Spring Break Programming Changes
There will be a Sit-Together Sunday for grades 1-5 on Sunday, March 8. Children in those grades should enjoy worship with their families on that day. There will be regular programming for children Kindergarten and younger.

There will be NO Club 45, Zone, or Jr. Zone on Wednesday, March 11. There will be childcare in the Nursery on March 11 for parents who are on campus for a small group or choir practice.

Created by God Retreat
Created by God is a comprehensive, faith-based study of human sexuality for fifth graders and their parents or guardians.  The curriculum will be taught by United Methodist Church leadership in a way that is relevant and fun.  Children and their parents will be encouraged in their faith and in their relationships.  This is an amazing family ministry opportunity. 2015 VBS & Summer Camp Dates
Save the dates! Hyde Park's week at Warren Willis is the week of June 15-20 (Week #2). Register for camp directly with Warren Willis through their website. To reserve space on the Hyde Park bus (first come, first served), e-mail Kathy DiRaimo. VBS will be the following week June 22-26 and registration will begin in April.
