VOLUNTEER NEEDS
Youth Sunday, Feb. 8
Youth Sunday is coming up fast. Our youth will lead all five services so we need lots of students' participation! If your student has not signed up to help with Youth Sunday, please contact Dave!

In youth group last night, I was truly influenced by the message given. We were shown a video of a man who had become a drug addict. He became depressed, attempted an overdose, and although he struggled greatly, he grew with support from the Lord. Not many know that a week before Christmas, I myself overdosed. I was extremely close to dying, and I felt like giving up was the only answer. All from drama, labels, and gossip. Not many realize how much labels effect people. They can rip apart self confidence and respect. One word said to someone can escalate into terrible thoughts until they stop trying to be strong. As the video went on during youth group, I felt myself begin to cry, and one of my best friends took me in her arms, because she cared. She does care. She is there for me and is a reminder of what I have to live for. Although it's been hard, I am so thankful that my overdose was not successful. I mended relationships with my family and found strength in myself. I realize that I am not weak. I am not what I am labeled and I shouldn't label others. I am his. I am the child of the one true king.

Middle School Wednesday Night Bible Study, 6:30 p.m.
The Bible is intimidating - no doubt about it. It's so big, so wordy, and hard to understand, but what if we told you that there was a way to read the Bible that would make it easy? Good news! There is an easy and fun way to read and understand the Bible, and it's called "The Amazing Bible Race." This race will be your chance to get into Scripture, earn points for your team with fun activities, and be encouraged as you learn and grow in your faith. Each student will need to purchase a Runner's Reader for $6, which will help you remember what the reading of the day is, as well as provide you with commentary to help you understand what you're reading. Come ready to race this Wednesday in the Magnolia Building. See you there!
