Happy New Year! We loved seeing so many smiling faces back on campus this past Sunday morning and Wednesday night. We hope your holiday break was wonderful and wish you joy-filled 2015.

Family Service Project
Join other families at either 10:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 25to pack backpacks for UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) and learn about what UMCOR does to help heal our world. This is a great service project for families whose children are too young to participate in Serve Day! The cost is $10 (per backpack) to cover the costs of materials. To participate, families must register in advance, sowe have enough materials for everyone. Register here.

Join the Celebration Choir 
Children in grades 1-5 are invited to join the Celebration Choir. Rehearsals for the musical will begin the evening of Jan. 21. For more information, contact Dr. Michael Dougherty.

Picture Bible Class for Parents
Parents of 2 and 3-year olds (or 4-year olds who missed the class last year) are invited to join other parents for a 3-week class, at 9:30 a.m. beginning Feb. 1. Parents will explore practical steps for sharing their faith with their young children. After the 3-week session, parents will present their children with a new Picture Bible in worship. Family Christmas Service
Thank you to the children, youth and adults who came together for the Family Christmas service Dec. 23! We are grateful for the way you joyfully shared the Christmas story by using your gifts of music, hospitality, acting, narration, or tech. It was a great way to begin Christmas Eve services at Hyde Park!

Sit-Together Sunday Jan. 18
Jan. 18, will be a Sit-Together Sunday for children in grades 1-5. Those children should plan to worship with their parents. There will be regular programming for ages Kindergarten and under on the first and second floors of the Wesley Center.

Pedals, Pipes, and Pizza
Join us at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23 is a special musical event for Elementary and Middle School students. Students will play games, hear the organ, and learn how the pipe organ works. Children who take piano lessons are invited to bring music to play on the organ. The cost is $5 per students, which includes a pizza dinner. Parents are invited (and encouraged) to stay if they are interested. Questions? Ask Dr. Michael Dougherty.

Sacraments Workshop-date change to Feb. 15
Parents and their children grades 2-5 are invited to join the Children's Team and pastors for a Sacraments Workshop 12:15-2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15. After sharing lunch, we will explore the meaning of Baptism and Communion in the United Methodist Church. This is a special opportunity for you and your children to have access to our pastors and get questions answered in a relaxed setting! We will conclude the afternoon by celebrating Communion together. Childcare will be available for younger children. Register here.

2015 Summer Camp & VBS: Save the dates
Many are already starting your summer planning. Hyde Park's week at Warren Willis is:  June 15-20, 2015 (week #2). VBS will be the following week: June 22-26, 2015. Save the dates!
