 EmilyEMILY'S MESSAGE
Is there hope when a teenager makes a wrong choice? Are those choices a reflection on you, as the parent? How do you deal with the pain a child either goes through or causes due to their own choices? To learn more about 'Hope through the hurt', click here.

Walking with you,

Emily Felgenhauer
Director of Youth Ministry

It's that time of year again. The time to be grateful and celebrate all God has given us. That's right, it's the week of Thanksgiving. Sunday, I worshiped with the youth praise team at Metropolitan Ministries. It was amazing to watch the smiles in the crowd from men, women and children who gathered at the tent that day. I felt a kind of joy from being up there singing; a joyful surge through my mind. It was stunning to see how just the voices of teenagers could cause such happiness in others. It also helped me to realize how incredibly blessed I am to be in the home I am in now, with the resources I have. Use this week to be thankful for all that the Lord has blessed you with and share his love with others. Happy Thanksgiving!

Middle and High School Merge, Sunday, 5:15-8 p.m.

We've all seen the nativity with perfectly positioned characters, well-behaved animals, and a holy glow surrounding it all. We see everyone in the scene as if they are one big happy family celebrating the first, and probably the only, perfect Christmas. Contrast this perfect picture with our own lives, our own families and holiday drama, and we may feel the Christmas story looks nothing like our own. But what if you able to pull back the curtain and see past the picture-perfect silent night? When we look closely, we find that the REAL Christmas story, the uncut, behind-the-scenes version looks more like our own than we would have ever imagined. The same God who scripted these imperfect characters into his story is calling us to join him there as well. Dinner starts at 5:15 p.m. in Harnish Activities Center and is only $5. Remember to bring a friend and you both get a gift!

High School Advent Home Group
Join us 6-8 p.m. on Tuesdays. Andrew Puckett and Haley Hansen will be co-leading our study called "Under Wraps." We will discuss how Christmas has gotten out of control with our "want list" and how we can bring the season back to its true meaning of Jesus being born and our reigning King. It is hosted at Emily's Apartment: Camden Bayside Apartments, 6401 S. Westshore Blvd., Building 7 South, Apartment #717 (on the third floor). Follow the balloons or if you have questions call her at 386.405.6246.

Middle School Wednesday Night Bible Study, 6:30 p.m.
Middle school is studying the same advent study as the high school group. They meet from 6:30-8 p.m. in the upper floor of the Magnolia building. For more information please contact Dave.
